A great spot on the corner of Canal and Taylor Street in Chicago. This chain location features a drive-through and lots of FREE parking…both rarities in the world of Chicago restaurants! Super fun atmosphere with 1940s style music playing and decor. For whatever reason, the lighting makes it difficult to take photos in this place. The food is yummy. The service is quick. Definitely worth checking out this spot!

I went to this location on 7/1/2023 and I haven’t had a good Italian beef in a while. It a good setting to come to get some good fresh hot food. I got the regular Italian beef with a side of fries and cheese sauce including a strawberry shake. I will definitely be back to order some food soon.

I live in a small city (26,000 people) in Ohio about ⅓ of the way between Cleveland and Columbus. I came to Chicago for business and pleasure, and my cousin took us to this restaurant for a “uniquely Chicago restaurant” experience. I was walking in completely prepared for the “big city coldness” that I have experienced so many times before, which I was ok with. Fortunately for me, that is as far from what I got as possible! The warmth and friendliness from every single staff member that I had an encounter with made me feel as though I was back home. The food was out of this world, and it was so good that I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture of any of it! I had the #1 meal, the Big Italian Beef, and i was half tempted to lick the paper it came in. It was that tasty! Kudos to the manager of this place for having such amazing staff! If I ever make it back to Chicago, this will absolutely be one of the places I go to eat!

We ordered well done ribs since they take 25 minutes because it was busy, we decided to get Maxwell street polish hotdog which turned out to be a great appetizer.

Best fast food place I’ve been too. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and a large fries. The sandwich was crispy and the sauce had lots of flavor and enough kick but not to the point where it’s unbearable. The fries were a bit soggy but we’re still really good.

Portillo’s in Chicago offers outstanding Chicago style hot dogs and shakes. The food and service are top-notch, even after 10 pm.

The beef sandwich from here wasn’t my favorite but it was pretty good. The Chicago style hot dogs are always very good. We also tried the 6pc chicken tenders and they were huge but they forgot to give me the Giardinara sauce. The soda tasted like water this time but the vanilla milk shake did not disappoint. I like coming to this Portillo’s cause it’s never too crowded and service it’s usually fast. There’s always parking and the people that work there are always super friendly!!!

Most delicious hot dog I ever had, also the most expensive lol. But it’s worth it. The place is huge with lots of memorabilia, but too loud and noisy to enjoy a meal. It’s a place to grab a quick bite and get out.

Been to the 1 in buena park CA by knotts berry farm. The food might of been a little better here but not by much. Love the food always get the maxwell street polish add the mozzarella and peppers and a ittalian beef sandwich wit peppers i usually get the chili fries but today got regular fries those are always good too. Shakes are above average. This building is in a great spot have a nice patio on the second floor.

I don’t think Italian beef is for me. It was soggy, which it’s supposed to be, but it just felt like a wet, unseasoned pile of meat that was frankly a little off putting. It had almost no flavor and was texturally so strange. Again, I’ve never had one before so maybe it’s just me. Just objectively lot a good sandwich. The hot dog was a saving grace. It was very good.
