Roy’s Big Burger is the place to go if you want an honest burger with no strings attached. Burgers are always freshly cooked to order. The staff has always been great and the atmosphere sits perfect in the neighborhood. I love the walk up and order style here, brings me back to simpler times. There are several tables and seating areas around the outside of the building.

This the best burger spot in the Richmond area! Fresh cooked with real ingredients.. We ate for three cost was around 45$.. I enjoyed the Big Burger with cheese and added bacon, I wanted egg, however, it is not available in the afternoon and Mac n’ Cheese Bites as my side with a mountain dew.. The Bites were a little empty but were average taste, wont order them again though.. My husband had the Triple Burger with bacon, they did forget the jalapeños, however, it was so good he forgot he even ordered them till after it was consumed lol with a side of fries and a Pepsi.. My child had the Chicken Tenders with a side of Deep Fried Pickles and a water with honey mustard, It was average.. Overall we will be back and will order the burgers again.. Thank you for a great lunch on a Saturday afternoon

Great burger joint! Not the cheapest place, but the food is definitely worth it. Outdoor, walk up restaurant. We have been coming here for years, sometimes we grab and go to Bryd Park, which is pretty much next door or just grab a table right on the premises. They have a new spot in the back, with few picnic tables and planted trees. My kids really love the fried Mac n’ cheese. We normally grab some onion rings and fries with our burgers. You can the burgers anyway you want, but I do like the “All the way”. There is usually a line, but they are pretty quick. In the summer, we will grab a ice cream for dessert. It’s been around forever, which tells you how good it is, truly has stood the test of time. Stop in, grab a bite, you’ll be happy.

These burgers look like they’ve been pounded! How do they squish them down so much? Even if the the buns were flopped on top, why would it be flattened to death? The fries are soggy and have no flavor. Reminds me of lunch lady fries from the school cafeteria except these weren’t even krinkled. No salt on them whatsoever. No salt packets in the bag. The meat wasn’t bad and the inside bun is toasted for a nice crunch, but for $5.30 on 1 smashed cheeseburger and $8.30 for a double, there should have been more! Fries are NOT included, but flies are. They kept buzzing in and out of the window.

The food is a taste of the past. When you bite in to it. It flashes you with memories. For me it was the memories of eating places like this with my dad. I had a bologna burger. The bologna burger was thicker than a hamburger patty from the clown. They had loads of toppings to choose from. So if you are looking to take a trip back to the past. Stop by hear and get some down home cooking from.

Exactly what you’re looking for from a drive-in: tasty, juicy, well-done burgers (bacon double cheeseburger was delectable); onion rings; delicious shakes; and the feeling that you are ordering too slowly for the person behind the window. I wish I could eat here every day, but I’d need regular artery roto-rootering. There’s nothing better than Roy’s for “cheat days,” though.

The cheeseburger was good, but not up to five guys level. Onion rings were hot and tasty. The fried Mac and cheese was a pleasant change, but not game changing. So good job for a local icon.
