What a gem! We stopped in unplanned for cocktails and happy hour small plates right before the dinner rush. The lamb confit gyoza and karaage were both great, but my friend and I were especially impressed with the cocktails. The sake sangria was refreshing and light, and the citrus from my Ume Old Fashioned went so well with the gyoza. Service was charming and the manager doubling as bartender shared a lot of the history behind the drinks and menu. I’d love to return for a full meal.

Was this place feuding with their kitchen?

This place is amazing. The plates are exceptionally decorated and flavorful. I had the Sake Sangria, perfect drink for the food. I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious dinner in a calm environment.

Loved this place. Wanted to try something new when we were in Chicago and it was extraordinary! Really unique dishes and the flavors were mind-blowing. You can tell each dish was crafted with a superior attention to detail. The drinks and service were amazing and the ambiance felt exclusive but inviting. We will definitely be back soon!

The omakase was amazing. The sushi was excellent, the staff were amazing and very nice, and it was a lot of fun getting to discuss each dish with the chef as he made them. Their sake selection was large and the staff was very knowledgeable about each one. They also had excellent cocktails that worked very well with the sushi. I highly recommend this place.

What a great spot for a date! Inside is uniquely beautiful, cocktails were perfectly balanced, and all the food was wonderful. We ordered a few apps and each our own entrees. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Well definitely be back.

Participated in the Omakase. The second floor was an open and inviting space.

This is a special sushi place with a small but excellent menu and a very creative decor made from reclaimed wood planks. All the sushi cuts were lovingly made and particularly fresh and delicious. You won’t find the same boring piece of tuna you’d find at a sushi place in a strip mall. There was a solid selection of sakes by the bottle and glass (served in a wine glass). The lamb gyoza was unusual and perfectly hot, flavorful, and tender. I look forward to trying the omakase some day. Prices are steep (8-12 per piece of nigori) but the quality is strong.

Best date night we’ve had in Chicago in a long time. We’ve lived in the city for over 15 years and have seen a ton of places come and go, and this place is great. Service, atmosphere, quality of food – all solid. Can’t wait to make this our new regular spot. And come back and try the Omakase!
