About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Both the sausage and mushroom spinach were the best I’ve ever had. Cesar salad was good. Family portion enough for at least 6. Much better than Giordano’s. Service was friendly and moved us to another table after the ventilation ducts in the ceiling dripped condensation onto us. Large clean gender restrooms in the back right.

A great place for watching a ball game with friends. Fantastic service and very good wings. One of the best Bruschetta’s I’ve ever had… It was fantastic! I had the privilege of meeting the manager who was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Foods are good, still can’t have preference between New York pizza and Chicago deep dish. San Francisco Pinsa is actually nice too. Would recommend deep dish and garlic bread here.

Food was delicious. They even had gluten-free deep dish pizza for my husband. The salad was so so good and the drinks were lovely. Location is top tier near all kinds of dessert options and the beach is not too far. Perfect place to catch up with friends.

This salad was pretty but tasted so sad. The lettuce was fresh but the quality was so bad it had an off flavor. I wouldn’t eat it. I only took off 1 star for that bc that’s not what they’re known for but def need to change their lettuce if they’re goofing to offer salads. The fries were great.

Deep pizza was great (and plentiful). The tomatoes are so full of flavor… the appetizers were ok, but nothing to call home and tell your mom. Tall tables and stools… definitely not my thing, specially when they rock a bit.

Had a deep dish pie for one. Pepperoni and mushrooms. I’m a thin crust pizza kind of guy, so deep dish isn’t something I eat very often, but it was very tasty. Sauce was flavorful and crust was flaky without losing that chewiness. Great location in the Gold Coast with patio seating.
