I’m sorry but there is nothing “gourmet” about the food. We ordered take-out for dinner (family of 3) and paid nearly $70 for our meals. The shrimp fried rice was not even fried rice. It was just yellow rice with no fried egg in it and no flavor at all. Crab rangoon barely had any stuffing in them and were stale. Also, when we arrived to pick up our order they had kids working the register. The little girl looked like she was about 10 years old or so – she asked for my name and took my payment. We definitely won’t be coming here again for many reasons.

Absolutely the best Chinese food we’ve had in Bradenton/ Sarasota by far!! We’re used to having very authentic Chinese food after living in several states in the last two decades. We’ve tried many in the area since our move here but this is by far the best. The ingredients are very fresh and their cooking skills superb. I ordered Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and the shrimp was cooked perfectly while the vegetables were cooked well but very crunchy. They have 27 choices for their lunch specials and they include Roast Pork Fried Rice and a 12 ounce can of soda for a very reasonable price. They also have free hot Chinese tea. Their portions are large – I ate half and took the rest home. My husband ordered General Tso’s Chicken and he said it was outstanding. He couldn’t finish his either! Along with their lunch menu they have an extensive dinner menu. I’ve attached lots of pictures. I’m very impressed. We have chosen this as our #1 Chinese restaurant.

The food looks nothing like the pictures on UberEATS. The rice is yellow and tasteless, there is barely any pork in it. I ordered a combination and donuts and I can’t believe I paid $30 for this. Not even close to gourmet.

Okay for most part. I ordered the following: bbq boneless spare ribs, which were very good, hot and sour had great flavor, full of typical meat, tofu and seaweed and not too thick. The egg roll was typical and decent. I ordered chicken fingers which were just okay, lot of filling and but my biggest issue was with the General Tso’s Shrimp. It was (maybe) medium shrimp that were cut in half the long way and surrounded by a ton of filling, making them appear like large or jumbo shrimp, see pics.

Very good, high quality food. The teriyaki beef on stick is so good. If you’ve had similar dishes at nearby Chinese restaurants, they will always be better at Chen’s in my experience. Chen’s uses noticeably higher quality ingredients, including the beef and chicken. Excellent honey chicken, and it was customized spicy as requested. I will be ordering from Chen’s regularly.
