We are Maple Bourbon, fairly new to the neighborhood, but we come with old-fashioned values: good food, great service and a clean, welcoming space for you to relax with your friends.
Our food is cooked to order and made with high quality ingredients, including whole (antibiotic free) chicken breasts, cage-free eggs, Applewood bacon, fresh potatoes, real grits, pure honey, sea salt and olive oil.
We make two syrups in-house: Maple Bourbon syrup (made with real Bourbon) and Brown Sugar Butter (think warm caramel); great with one of our hot, 7 waffles.
Straightforward downtown café serving Southern comfort food & signature chicken & waffles. Based on 382 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.0 stars. Price $$

Love this place! One block from the state capital building. Great brunch menu for the wknd. I had the “Cherish the Day,” which included French toast & bacon. You can choose pork or turkey bacon. I went with the turkey bacon & was not disappointed. It was excellent, as was the French toast. Real maple syrup is standard, but there are two upgrades to choose from. I went with the maple bourbon syrup for a $2 upcharge. It was worth it! The restaurant offers a full bar and Coke products. There is a sign on the wall that says “We don’t do Boogee,” and I for one appreciate that! I am so tired of Boogee food. Give me down home any day! Single stall restroom was clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. It is downtown, so good luck with the parking. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious, but the service was lackluster… We were told to seat ourselves and then were completely ignored. We understood they were short staffed but the server there completely ignored us, never said “be right with you” or offered us anything to drink. She told other tables she was the only one there for the morning. We waited.. and waited.. and waited.. until another server came in and she did her best to get to us. We watched other tables be greeted and served first, even though they sat down long after us. Once the server who was called in got to us, she was very sweet, but her coworker shouldn’t have left us hanging like that. We weren’t asking for full service, but just some acknowledgment. We were 2 seconds from walking out the door (we weren’t the only ones, we watched another table leave because they never even got menus). Luckily the food was AMAZING because the wait was very frustrating.

Best chicken & waffles I’ve ever had! Great dining experience, fantastic food, I recommend to everyone! The location can’t be beat, nice art across the street and a short walk to other great sites, including the capital building. I even walked across the river (on a bridge, of course ) to Legends Brewing once, but I can’t say I’d recommend it on a hot day if you have to get to work later. The heat/humidity & steady breeze increased my hair volume by probably 500%! Coworkers thought I just spent $$$ at the salon, so maybe it wasn’t that bad of an idea after all. I was so worried about this small business making it through 2020, and I am SO happy they are still open. I will stop in as often as I can. Live jazz is always a good vibe, if you can get a table.

If you can get past the passive aggressive and unwelcoming atmosphere, you still won’t be impressed for the price. There are condescending signs posted all around the dining room telling us that we better tip and not to complain. With that in mind, we didn’t want to comment on the poor quality of food for the price. Most of our food was bland and dry. The “signature” syrup is just maple syrup with brown sugar mixed in. Servers were okay, while not rude, they definitely weren’t attentive and were slow. When we paid, there was no thank you for coming in or even asking us how the meal was. Just took the money and literally ran away without telling us goodbye even. I won’t be back.

Loved it. The waffle is perfect and my husband had the stone grits. They were amazing. I appreciate the fact they use cage free eggs and recyclable straws.

The restaurant was nice, prices were reasonable, and wait staff was friendly. However, greeting guess with “Hey you can sit anywhere!” Doesn’t feel welcoming.

Food was ok, but grits were cool. Had to wait for toast, so my eggs were cold too. Waffle was delicious. Gratuity was added to the check – 18%, we usually tip 20%, but we will stick with what they added. The server was sweet, but seemed overwhelmed with 2 tables. (5 people total).
