Pasta Veneta is a newish restaurant in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. Its got a neighborhood restaurant type feel – very airy, bright and friendly staff. It was more laid back vibe and not trying as hard as some of the other places in the area. They do have a full bar with cocktails but also an extensive wine list with some yummy options. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu including a vegan chickpea polpette which was delicious. They make all the pastas in house and you will not be disappointed ordering any of them. We all love a good low-key spot in the city where you don’t have to worry about running into anyone at, and the fact that Pasta Veneta is in Fulton Market hidden in plain sight, it doesn’t get much better than that. If you’re ever in the mood for authentic Italian food with staff thats extremely knowledgable about the cuisine visit Pasta Veneta. I even had some leftovers to take home. There’s an outdoor patio for those warm days and a good amount of free street parking.

My partner and I ordered grilled calamari, spaghetti with truffle sauce, and the house special (pasta plated at the table, prepared in a wheel of cheese). Overall, I am beyond impressed by the quality of the food. Everything was delicious; I will be a returning customer.

Second time at pastaveneta tonight, and it was just as amazing as the first!! Best pasta in the west loop, no question. Better than Monteverde & Rosemary in my opinion (which is a well fought battle). The service is fabulous and far from pretentious, everything is well priced, and the patio is extremely dog friendly – our waitress brought our dogs water bowls and each a small plate of mashed potatoes . It was so delicious, if you’re in the area or without a reservation pastaveneta is a must try.

Homemade pasta is from another world! Cooked to perfection – we tried spaghetti with caviar (delicious!!) and linguine with scallop (we think our had a little piece of sand though). It e also tried eggplant and it didn’t disappoint. Wine selection is very good. Overall very good place and we will come back again!

Pasta Veneta specializes in fresh handmade pasta that will knock your socks off! I also seriously enjoyed their stracciatella with olive tapenade and calamari. My fave dish of the night was the truffle cream spaghetti with caviar and chives. That dish was insanely creamy and indulgent! Rivaling that dish, I really loved how perfectly seared the scallops dish was! I definitely recommend going the next time you’re in the mood for fresh pasta!
