Simply delicious and I read today 7/5 they are a best restaurant for would food I AGREE!! I went 7/2 after a jazz event it was the best soul food in Richmond yes being from the south ..I know..fish excellent nice portions.. Mac and cheese the best yams super duper great!! I got the fried seafood platter with grits and rice for sides (I know). The fish are shrimp were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The grits were some of the best I’ve had in a while. The hunk of cornbread was light and fluffy the way Granny used to make it. I will return if I am in the Richmond area again.

Croaker spot never disappoints I took my bf here for a birthday dinner because he asked for seafood and instantly, I thought of Croaker Spot. Normally, there’s a long wait but this time, we were seated right as we walked in, and that was perfect time.

This black owned spot was so dope!! The atmosphere was so smooth and laid back. They played smooth r&b music while we ate and the service was spectacular! The food was absolutely amazing I got the chicken, shrimp, turkey sausage blackened pasta. It was amazing.

It’s first come, first serve, but they did accommodate a group of 8 people which was my family for Christmas so that was great. Long wait, but the food was worth it. 20 minutes top was the wait, but when you have as many as people as we did the weight doesn’t seem so long.

It pains my heart to give 3 stars to this ole faithful staple that I love. Quality and quantity has definitely declined over the years. Service is spotty, hit or miss. Seems like the recipes have been altered. My fish was too salty, and very under seasoned. Seems like salt was the only seasoning used. The Mac and cheese was mushy and the mashed yams were swimming in butter. This doesn’t deter me per se. Maybe my next visit will be better.
