This was the biggest burrito I HAVE EVER SEEN. This place was recommended to me by a coworker and I was literally taken back when I opened the container. It was massive. Literally probably has its own gravitational pull it’s so huge. And it was delicious. Definitely 2 meals AT LEAST. When I visit Richmond again I will be back here.

I had heard good things so I thought I’d try it knowing there’s good tacos around. This place is not it. Over priced, stale store bought tortillas, bland and super dry meat and no salsa or lime to help either! Not gonna be coming back here.

It’s a fair place for tacos! We ordered later at night towards closing so our food could have been better, but it might have been our mistake. Tacos were dryer than expected. Would go back 100% for the loaded fries, those were awesome!!

This was our second time here. The first time I got tacos and they were really uniquely crafted and flavorful! Mind you, they are some of the priciest in RVA at $5 per taco. This time we got burritos. $48 for two burritos and fries. With chips and drink it was $65 for two people…. The food was just okay. The fries were average, greasy. The burritos were alright, and contained a lot of rice that made it bland.

What stood out to me the most was the fresh green salsa! One of the better birria tacos I’ve had — the slam dunk was a slam dunk– I could drink the dipping sauce/consume! Perfectly seasoned meats and fresh ingredients! I loved the variety of cheeses included on each dish, too. I did take out/ordered online and the guys working were super friendly. I think it would probably be best as fresh and crispy as possible. When I return, I’ll eat there at the tables they have on their patio.

Great lil’ spot, super dope and packs a punch. Friendly staff and super easy. Props to the menu as they had almost as many vegetarian options as meat. Tacos were pretty stuffed and were even a bit out of the box. A play on textures flavors traditional flavors as well as a pinch if experimentation. Best for takeout.

TBT El Gallo is a small but successful taco stand in Richmond, VA. Their biggest strength is their experimentation. They combine a variety of flavors to break away from the norm and deliver a unique experience. Parking and sitting leaves much to be desired so I recommend takeout. Staff is friendly and helpful in explaining the items. Worth a visit for lunch or dinner. Great prices and portions.

We hired TBT to cater my husband’s 40th birthday party and it was the best experience. Their catering manager, Meaghan, is a saint and makes the whole process incredibly easy. And the food was amazing. Not to mention, there was so. much. of. it. We couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience.

Every time I go to Richmond, I have to have TBT! Their tacos and burritos are SO GOOD and the cold salsas in the cooler are the best I’ve ever had.

Burrito so good it made me cry! Definitely sad I live out of state now and can’t have these burritos every week. Staff was friendly and was excited to offer me multiple vegetarian options that all sounded delicious. He also talked up his chorizo recipe (for good reason according to my friend). Will eat here again every time I’m in town.
