Lunch for two was excellent. Lamb entree and gyro wrap with shared grilled octopus starter and a dessert that I cannot recall the name of. The restaurant was very busy. The manager candidly told us the first weeks for the new restaurant didn’t go as smoothly as hoped. Everything we experienced suggested they have got the place running properly now. We will be back to try their dinner options.

Dinner for 4 was absolutely excellent. From the food to the service we had an amazing time. All of these other comments must have been from when they had just opened because they were operating perfectly last night. The calamari appetizer, Taramosalata dip, and Greek salad were all so amazing to start off. All of our entrees following were delicious. I especially recommend the moysaka, lamb shank, and psaromezes (swordfish skewer, shrimp calamari octopus). What we did not get, but looked so cool, was the deboned whole fish! On top of the food was the great service! He was very kind, told us what he recommended, and was prompt with the delivery (not a long wait). I highly recommend this restaurant and we have already planned our trip back 😉

Very good Greek food (this is not your copycat souvlaki/fries/salad diner) but a legitimate restaurant.

We had dinner at Archontiko on Sunday, 10/13/19, and experienced an exceptional dinner. Both the lamb shank and the grilled salmon were delicious. In addition, the offered wines, which were almost all of Greece origins, the Merlot and Savignon Blanc, were very enjoyable. The service was very friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this new restaurant .

Great location, great service, great wine….food is OK. Stay away from lamb and all red meats…..we had to send back lamb – tasted horrible and was extremely under cooked. The chicken and apps were pretty solid – but VERY overpriced for what you get. i had such high hopes for this place b/c the location is amazing…but just b/c you are in McLean, doesn’t mean you should overcharge. I would bring the family here way more often if it wasn’t so overpriced and had some kid friendly menu items. Nostos is far superior food and worth the short distance. Consider a more family friendly menu (and better pricing) – people in McLean need that BIG TIME – and your restaurant would fill up.

I hate to write negative reviews about anything, but this place was a disappointment. My family and I went there on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was relatively quiet. We only ordered Mezzas, but it still took over 30 minutes just to deliver the Greek salad and tzatziki, both of which are cold dishes. Once the hot dishes did finally come, to be fair, the food was really good. We travel to Greece yearly, and the dishes were like true traditional food you will only find in Greece. Why the low rating: the portions were very small for the price point, food took forever to be delivered to the table, and the one Ouzo they offered was awful; the silverware and glassware were dirty as well. Now here’s the kicker, our server was very nice, and once one of the managers found out that my wife was Greek, he chatted with us for a bit. But…as we were leaving, the owner, who was talking with the only other table in the restaurant (the entire time we were there), didn’t stop to acknowledge us in any way when we where there nor leaving…no thank you, no “hey I heard you speaking Greek welcome”, nothing. Now I know a lot of you will find this a bit petty, but I would think that the owner of a new restaurant would want to greet or thank his new clientele? Repeat business Mr. owner… Here’s hoping that this place gets it together because the food was really good. My two cents: better Ouzo, better portions, and GREET YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

The food was ok. Don’t get the ribeye. Probably should have known better to not get a steak at a Greek restaurant. Terrible piece of meat and way undercooked. The mixed seafood grill was good but the veggies underneath were cold. Carrots totally undercooked.

This restaurant is not ready for prime time. We went in on a Saturday night and they were busy but not full. Upon entering, the hostess warned us that they were a little slow. I was not prepared for quite how slow they were. It took an hour to get appetizers. At that point, we decided we wouldn’t order entrees because it would take too long. The food that we ordered was good but not worth waiting an hour. Hopefully, they’ll figure out the service issues.

We went for lunch, the restaurant is very comfortable, and nicely decorated and we were warmly greeted by the owner. The food was excellent, very nicely plated with generous amounts of food. We would definitely come back again!

The signs on the front door indicate that this restaurant is open for business at 11 AM, and invite passers by to stop in for lunch. On two successive weeks, I have tried doing exactly this. The first week, the doors were locked. On the second, I came across someone washing the floor. It was about 11:20. I asked if the establishment was open for business, and was told to come back about noon. I then told him that the sign in front said open at 11 AM. He said to come back at 12:30. They get a one star for showing an entitlement attitude. It will be recalled that Archhontiko was about a year late in opening. Perhaps they should close again.
