I especially enjoyed the falafel pita with rice. The rice was good, not mushy or dry. I am excited to find good Chicago-style restaurants. They are hard to find in this state. There is a lot more I want to try so I’m sure I will be back.

Oh man. I’ve been living next to this place for the last 7 years and only just now discovered it. I love a good Chicago Italian beef sandwich and Al’s nails it! The Chicago dog is perfect. The beef and chicken shawarma is amazing. Very friendly service. I don’t have to go to Portillos ever again!

I absolutely love Al’s Gyros! Such good food, and great service. I ordered catering for a party and everyone raved about it. One recommendation for catering – the portions are enormous! After ordering for and feeding 30 people we have about 10 meals we froze for our family of 4 – lucky us!

The owner Oliver has an amazing ,friendly and welcoming personality. I have been to many Greek restaurant but Al’s gyros chicago’s finest have the best gyro plate. you gotta try it! Delicious. The staff was very helpful on what to order, friendly and outgoing. Totally recommend this place to everyone.

Got italian beef combo(yes they have giardenera) my wife is from CHI and very hard to find Chicago food here. This place nails it. Pizza puffs are to die for…only 5$ one is super filling. Got gyro plate too. 2 meals. Tons of meat. Everything was perfect and not super overpriced. The girl that waited on us was super nice too! Only downside ice machine was broken only dripping water so no ice for sodas .

This Greek, Chicago, & Mediterranean is as good as it gets. My wife had the Chicago gyros with salad. I had the Steak Shawarma Plate, including rice , pita bread, and tzatziki sauce. Both were outstanding and fairly priced. $7.99 for the gyro and $13.99 for the shawarma plate. Both were more food than we could eat at one sitting. Salads were very fresh. The meat was done just like in Greece ! I also had the garlic sauce with mine. All the sauces are freshly made. While I ended up taking much of mine home, I also ordered the cilantro jalapeno hummus with pitas and baklava to take home. Everything is very flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I will definitely be returning. Some of the Chicago favorites include Chicago hot dogs, patty melts, Italian sausage on gonella roll, and pizza puffs. Some of the Mediterranean specialties include Dolmas, Spanakopita, Baba-Ghanouj Falafel and Fatoush. Great food, great folks, wonderful ambiance.
