Definitely has taken the top spot for my favorite Bahn Mi in the city. No frills setting with classic and extremely well executed menu. The bread was perfectly crunchy, delicious savory meats and pate, and the perfect contrast of fresh veggies and herbs. In addition to the sandwiches I noticed they had some beautiful, crispy roast pork and duck that I’m definitely going to be ordering next time too!

Good god that was a great bahn mi. Fresh ingredients and flavors, bread with the perfect amount of crunch, and turned around quickly and affordably.

Probably the best banh mi I’ve ever had… maybe the best sandwich I’ve ever had.

My type of comfort food is banh mi. Như Lan has so many options you can choose from. My favorite or go-to is the special (#1). My tip for you is to get the veggies toppings separately so that you can save your banh mi for later or another day. I also like to give a good squeeze or press to the banh mi before opening the wrapper (I’m not a big fan of the crust so this helps breaking them up). I like mine a little softer. Như Lan also offers a lot of desserts, drinks, and BBQ items (like roasted duck, chicken, crispy pork, bbq pork). Everyone is very nice here so that’s a plus. Definitely recommend Như Lan if you haven’t had banh mi before.

I read up on Nhu Lan after researching must-try Vietnamese restaurants on the famous Argyle Street in Uptown, and immediately wanted to try their Banh Mi. After a few weeks of anticipation, I got the chance to try one, and it was worth the wait!

Bánh mì is not that great. No flavor and doesn’t taste authentic at all. The lemongrass chicken was just shredded chicken they threw on bread. Certainly not worth the $10 I paid for it. There are much better bánh mì’ on Argyle Street.

A go to place for Viet desserts, banh mi, and roasted meats. I often get the freshly baked bread or roast duck or pork by the pound , it’s amazing. Can get busy, long waits, and there is only a small waiting area so maybe call or order ahead.

The sandwiches were good, but we didn’t think they were worth the $10ish cost.

Along with a large range of Banh Mi options, the store also has very delicious crispy pork belly that was made in-house and several sweet treat that contain authentic tastes and flavors from the country where they were created. A Nhu Lan special Banh Mi sandwich was a harmonious combination of many kinds of hams, liver pâté, butter, super creamy egg-yolk mayonnaise, and greens like cucumber, cilantro, carrot and a hint of fresh cut jalapeño. With just $5, it is almost irresistible for a quick, healthy, and tasty breakfast.
