have had a few disappointing experiences lately with State Street Pizza. The most recent was a “buffalo chicken salad.” As you can see from the photo, this consisted of a couple handfuls of lettuce and some plain chicken. For $12. Nothing buffalo about it. No egg, no red onion, etc like the menu indicated.

The Market at Liberty Square – a micro Reading Terminal Market in Kennett Square. State Street Pizza & Grill – a nice cheesesteak option in the square. This is a case of where everything else helped the score of the cheesesteak. $10 was a little steep for this cheesesteak BUT $5 Happy Hour draft beer was a great price equalizer. The amount of meat was the only weak spot on this cheesesteak (more meat then you need more cheese, but you get the point). A lot more meat on this cheesesteak and the Market at Liberty Square would be a top cheesesteak destination.

I’m a little frustrated with the service I received. I ordered online on their website (prior to their opening for the day) for a 10:57am delivery as offered on their website. At 11:10am, I called to find out where the pizza was and they said they don’t open until 10:30am and it should arrive by 11:20. I totally understand needing time to make a pizza; however, if you are unable to deliver before 11:20am, simply don’t list it on your website as an option. Now I have a classroom full of students who didn’t get to eat lunch and I have a bunch of uneaten pizzas.

They told me 45 min, food to 1 hr and 40 min to arrive. I called 120 in and they said it left already, I live 15 min away. Food finally shows up, hot too, which I was grateful for. They messed up 2 of the items, of course 1 was for the kids. I called and all the guy can say is sorry we were busy and I don’t make th orders. That’s it. If ya can’t do something just say it. I would have came and got it or went somewhere else. Now I’m going to be going elsewhere because I can’t trust the service anymore. This isn’t the first nor second time.

I get their pizza all the time, also the spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread is delicious! But tonight, as I went to pull out, my car wouldn’t start, and 2 guys from State Street went and got jumper cables, pulled their car around, and stayed till my car was good. Good pizza, even better staff!! HUGE THANK YOU for your help tonight!
