Decent place for gyros or lamb burgers. They have decent potato wedges. Indoor/Outdoor seating. Recently I had lamb chops and they were $59 +Tax. Lunch gyros are around $13-$16 on average without any sides.

First time here!! We were one of the first few people in for lunch today..Was immediately greeted by the owner who was beautiful and extremely friendly she even came out and opened the door and welcomed us in, Erica took care of us and because we were one of the only tables filled she talked to us a bit which was also so welcoming and made us feel comfortable! She helped me navigate the menu because I was torn between a couple of things! I got the chicken kebob lunch which came with a side salad and toast the salad was very good maybe a little over dressed but I’d just ask for the dressing on the side next time..all the vegetables were very fresh tasting and crunchy! The toast was very basic maybe season it with green spices and garlic that would be a really nice touch! The kabob was great flavor all the way through chicken was a little dry, and the onions still had the skins on it..the rice was very basic and I didn’t care for it I took only one bite…HOWEVER! The Greek potatoes Oh My God! Those were AMAZING! And I’m not a big potato fan..I’d come back for those alone! Now that we covered the food.. The ambience of the restaurant was AMAZING you really feel like you are transported to Greece! So so beautiful I had to get a picture!

Athens on 86th has an impressive number of menu choices, including several sampler plates for those who want more than one dish (or who want to try more than one dish). They have hot and cold appetizers and vegetarian versions of some classic Greek dishes. We have been to this restaurant more than once, and intend to keep visiting when we are in the area. This most recent visit, on 6/9/23, we had a waiter named Nikola who was very friendly and very accommodating of our choices. We enjoyed interacting with him and hope to see him again at our next visit. We interacted only sparingly with other staff, but they were also very friendly. The restaurant is decorated in some very appealing scenes of Greek places, as well as statues and columns, paintings and greenery. If you are Greek and long for a taste of home, go there. If you are not Greek and have never lived in Greece, nor visited there, but like Mediterranean food, go there. The food is consistently good and the service is consistently friendly, fast, and accommodating.

Absolutely wonderful. I haven’t had good Greek food since I lived in Chicago by Greektown. This was absolutely wonderful. Authentic taste. Beautiful atmosphere. Kind staff. We were blown away. I have officially found my greek place here in Indy. Tina, thank you so much for this incredible cuisine.

Authentic and delicious! The service is top notch. The high quality recipes are the owners (Tina), who is very much hands-on. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Greece, you never want to leave! Athens on 86th is above the standard! Try something you have not tried-you won’t be disappointed then go back again!

I ordered takeout here recently. It was my first time at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the food. I had the grape leaves, a gyro platter, and the lentil soup. All of this food cost almost $50. The gyto platter was equivalent to what I could have got at the at a different restaurant for about 10 dollars less. The grape leaves were about $15. They were bland in flavor and they were also kind of Mushy.
