I really wanted to love Gino & Marty’s because it was so cute inside. Unfortunately, this place was all hype. The bread service (pane) was the best part. We ordered the spicy gnocchi which was good but not great. It was DEFINITELY not spicy (unless your taste buds are white, then for sure it’s spicy). I added black pepper and crushed red pepper to it and it was still not that spicy. The meatballs were a little bland, but the texture was on point, and added with the whipped ricotta was a great idea because it gave some unique flavor. The lamb ravioli was honestly a waste of calories and carbs. Normally, when the food is lackluster, a restaurant makes up for it in service or experience. The service was also fairly average here. Nothing special. I really really wanted to like this place. Tried so hard but honestly, there are much better, innovative Italian spots out there. And if you want some traditional Italian food, then there are better restaurants in Chicago. I probably wouldn’t choose to go here again.

First I want to start off with the service we received was absolutely incredible. We came early to our reservation and they were able to squeeze us in. They helped us with the wine list and cocktails. The waiter was knowledgeable on the menu and wine pairings. Angel was so attentive to our table and really made our evening special.

Gino is one of the most talented chefs in the world. He is known for using famous recipes passed on from generations. It’s truly an Italian welcome home experience. The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience wonderful. I recommend the chefs table!! You are right in the middle of the this busy kitchen where the magic happens.

My wife and I are moving out of Chicago tomorrow and picked our favorite restaurant to celebrate a new chapter. Gino and Marty’s was a no brainer because their pasta is the best in Chicago, atmosphere is top notch, and staff makes you feel at home. Will miss this place right around the corner! Mark thanks for everything, you are terrific!

Went to Gino and Marty’s for the first time recently. My favorite dish was the salmon bruschetta, such a fun twist on an already great classic!! Our waitress Christina was so kind and was really great with suggesting good options from the menu. Will definitely be back very soon!

Went tonight for my birthday, food was AMAZING. Sausage & peppers and the Sunday sauce dish were especially good, plus the drinks (get the Hugo!)

We were absolutely blown away by the entire experience at Gino and Marty’s! The food was incredible, but it was the service that took it next level. Brian our server was amazing and so great to talk to. We can’t wait to come back!

Here’s what you need to know: food was very enjoyable, especially the vongole and the whole fish. Many changes frequently. There are some growing pains with service and some menu items were out of stock at opening bell, and the prices are high with the portions not too big. but all of that is totally understandable given the newness.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant…. The ambiance was so beautiful the music was great too but the food was just okay, there was lipstick on the glass which wasn’t a big deal but for the type of restaurant you would expect more. They did not have Lambrusco and it took about 15mins for them to notice that which was confusing! We ordered different drinks but no matter how you wanted the drink they charged an extra $5 (shown in pic) which was upsetting because if you want to charge $25 for a drink just charge it we are downtown !!! Don’t say it’s $19 then charge an extra $5 no matter how you order the spirit, it’s misleading. Just highly disappointed. I expected more, I’ve been looking forward to coming to this restaurant and it was a major let down.
