I walked in and was hit with a heavy haze of cigarette smoke in the atmosphere, which tells me there was no air circulation. I ask for a menu, and the man at the counter gives me one and then walks away. Another man approaches and asks me what I’d like from the menu, I choose an entree, and then he charges me $3 more than what it states on the menu. I pay and was told it will take 10 minutes. I said I’ll be back in as I immediately left the establishment which looked sketchy from the hookas to the barred front door, from the heavy smoke, which made me dizzy and stained my clothing, to the small portioned entree that cost $20 (not 17, as it states on the menu) I made the mistake of coming here. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemies (Photo of my hand in comparison to the “entree.”

I have to give credit where credit is due, the food is quite enjoyable and tasty. My issues with this place stem from the shady customer service and their tendency to unfairly up-charge their customers. All prices on their menu are at least $5 under what they will charge you, they will serve and charge for bottled water without prompting, and when they served me rice instead of the fries I asked for with my meal, they made me pay for $10 for a little basket of mid fries. When I confronted the staff about the issue I obviously had with that, they claimed fries did not come with the meal, despite the menu clearly stating it did. The staff does not speak English and would not even try to understand when I tried explaining my issue with that, and claimed that there was no error and refused to back down. I had half the mind to just leave without paying but instead I hope this review will dissuade people from giving this place their money.

If you ‘sound black’ (those who applies to know what I mean) don’t bother calling in your order for pickup- they won’t make your order until you arrive and pay. Meanwhile as I was waiting for my food, I watched multiple non-black folks instantly pick up their orders instantly upon arrival. It’s happened multiple times now so no longer dealing with this spot (and honestly the food wasn’t even all that, just was convenient for me)

I don’t understand the negative reviews, I went to this place and it was off-the-hook!! First off, the owners are very friendly and they always check on you to see if you are satisfied, and are always willing to make things right or honor your requests. Even the singers are friendly and always greet each customer. And yeah the food is worth the trip, it’s homemade and not frozen like the other places I have been to. The music is authentically arabesque. I am definitely going back to this place.
