Speakeasy Grill ranks as my favorite brunch spot in Richmond. Great ambience. Wonderful service. Fantastic food. The historic home espouses a rich history of the African American experience in Jackson Ward. Oh! And the cocktails are on point. My only request is that they open on Saturday as well as Sundays. Perfect place for Sunday brunch.

We had brunch today. One had breakfast, one had gumbo and I had the BEC burger. Raves all around on the food. Service excellent and friendly. Reasonably priced. And the restaurant itself is very authentic inside a beautiful bldg. Outside seating. You will love the ambiance.

Went to an event there. From my understanding the management of speakeasy did not communicate with the promoter prior to the date of the event that there was a time restraint on the serving of the food, and we literally were attending a brunchnd. It turned into an unpleasant situation lol…$80 to never eat!!!!

Restaurant located beside the Hippodrome Theater in historic Jackson Ward on 2nd St. Prices for drinks were expensive ($11 for rum and pineapple ) in comparison to other local restaurants. The chicken for the waffle has delicious breading. Service was good.
