Not a bad meal at all. I had the burger with no add ons, just simple beef, tomato, onion, pickle, lettuce and mustard aioli. It was probably the best burger I’ve had in town. My wife had the black bean salad with a really nice cilantro lime vinaigrette. This place overall is quite nice. Good decor and open environment. There were a couple mistakes such as they forgot my baked potato soup (which was delicious) and the vinaigrette for my wife’s salad but it’s day 1, so should find it’s rhythm. I would comment on the dessert, but who are we kidding, we are still going to caliches. Overall, above average for the area. Recommendation, maybe an addition to staff.

I’ve eaten at The Local 3 days in a row now — ordering different things with each visit. Our experience here has been all positive. The staff are all incredibly sweet and the service was exceptional. Despite long waits due to having opened just 6 days ago, the food has been impeccable and complete worth the time it took to receive it.

To be honest, the food and customer service in otero county is absolutely appalling. It is unacceptable how most restaurants will treat you so poorly, every single time. So coming to try the local I wasn’t expecting much at all. But they truly blew me away! The food was to die for, strong flavors, unique items and WORTH the prices! We had our waitress, Kim who could easily be the best waitress in Alamogordo! She was patient, kind, and helpful. We felt like her guest and she wanted us to stay all night! What really was the best is how she was with our son, she was patient enough to let him order and she helped him decide what to get. And later she invited him to the back “ to wash dishes” so he went and looked around the back with her.it was so sweet how she took extra time to play with him, the way she did. We will absolutely be coming back, and I would recommend this place above all others in Alamogordo!

The food is superb! Joe H. goes above and beyond to make your dinning experience wonderful. From beginning appetizers to ending deserts we were thrilled! Our dinner was cooked to perfection and every bite was delicious! We had a large party and everyone was beyond satisfied. We will will definitely be back! If you want high quality FRESH FARM to TABLE, this place is for you. This is a very unique restaurant and the service is impeccable.

Do not recommend. Portions small, food had no flavor, poor service. Took an hour to get our lunch sandwiches (French dip and Turkey melt). Sweet potatoe fries were covered in cinnamon and they were horrible. No one asked how the meal was at any point. We noticed the sign says “The Local by Memories,” however, the food and service was not even comparable to the excellent service and food we had at Memories.

Very nice atmosphere and menu. We had sliders, French dip, salads. It wasn’t crowded when we went. The food is truly fresh. If you don’t come early they run out of some things or aren’t able to serve them because they would spoil. I wish they posted their menu somewhere online. Give this new place a try.

The entire staff was exceptional. We had a member of our party with severe allergies and they went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. The manager personally took her order and brought out products so ingredients could be double checked. Food was great. Service spectacular.

New restaurant in an old restaurant’s location. Good food. Wait staff young Ann’s still learning. Eager owners. Too many customers think that because they bought the recipes of the previous restaurant that they will serve the same menu. They aren’t. They have their own take on foods. I think they will improve and succeed.

Excellent food! The fresh ingredients and creative options are awesome! The Homestyle Mac & Cheese had a smoky gouda taste. Every dish we ordered was so good! Staff was extremely friendly! Will definitely be visiting again!
