Been here a couple of times prior. Everything was delicious, except for the wagyu steak, good flavor but the meat was a little tough, thus the star drop. Some of my faves… deviled eggs topped with fried oysters & caviar, bone marrow with beef tartare & caviar, mussels in saffron broth, and the Berkshire pork chop (oh, so yummy)!! Service was impeccable as always!

A hidden gem in “mountains”! To the point French inspired cuisine, all prepared with love and delicious! Great deviled eggs and escargot, mains are large and delicious. Remember to get bread is you ordering mussels, dipping is mouthwatering!

Now this restaurant was so amazing. Every dish we ordered had so much flavor. It was my first time having bausoleil oysters and they were delicious, along with the sauces. The deviled eggs with the fried oyster and the salmon toast are a must have. Our grand finally was the fromage blanc, truffles and fennel raviolis.

Celebrated a very special milestone birthday of my partner’s at this marvelous establishment, which honestly made the event that much better. Nice neighborhood spot in Montclair. The starters, wine and cocktails are quite good. The mains are a bit overthought and pricey with the exception of the burger which is excellent and a good deal. I’d recommend coming here to eat starters or a burger at the bar. The atmosphere is quaint but a little cold and could be significantly better if they made the entrance a little more attractive and added some acoustic treatments to handle noise.

Several weeks ago, I stopped in on a Sunday morning at Peet’s coffee next door. I waited for my order when a young woman entered with a dog off leash. The dog wandered through the coffee bar and annoyed many of the customers looking for a snack. I confronted the owner who was belligerent and offensive and the manager asked us all to leave. One week later, I made a reservation by telephone to Perle for dinner. When I arrived on time, this same woman was the hostess and promptly asked me to leave. I said that I had a reservation and she replied, “We won’t serve you here!” I spotted the same little terrier skirting around the tables looking for hand outs – of course off leash. I won’t be back! If you like dogs begging under your table, go ahead and have a nice dinner.
