This restaurant is a hidden gem!! We have driven by countless times, and finally made it our destination. We had a wonderful conversation with both the owner and waitress. They a warm, friendly, and one of the many reasons we will return. My husband had the brisket plate. I couldn’t make up my mind, so I had a little brisket, ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. Every bite was heavenly, smoky flavor delicious. To top off a great dinner, we had apple and chocolate pie. We will definitely be back!

We got chicken, pulled pork, smoked sausage, corn bread, baked beans and potato salad. Everything was amazing! Plus the sweet tea was really good! We drove an hour to try it and it was worth it! 10 stars if I could!

The food here is exceptional barbecue. The dessert was pretty awesome as well, apple pie, à la mode now. It’s a great casual dining experience with friendly folks, owning and working there. It’s a must visit!

SGT Rick’s provides you with one of those rare moments of authentic Americana! A veteran who wanted to just create his own space has done just that. On a strange curve in a small Hoosier town, you’ll find a passageway back to God, Country and the American Way. Jump in your Truck, Jeep or Hog (or your SUV) and take a picturesque ride to Freetown, Indiana. The exquisite charm of this small town is only superseded by the great food, military atmosphere and interesting menu at Rick’s. Salute!

Just went there for the first time with my wife. They make the best baked beans I’ve ever had and the rest of the food was great too! Good stuff!

Possibly the best food & service in Jackson County. Just a short scenic drive from Seymour. Their breakfast menu is equally delicious to their dinner menu! The french toast is out of this world, Amazing! The brisket & cornbread is phenomenal! The brisket is so tender it melts in your mouth. I have no idea how they make their cornbread so soft and flavorful.

Greeted as soon as entering, seated right away and had great service throughout. The fried pickles were really good for an appetizer and the chicken sandwich was really good too! Good prices on everything, but adding all your stuff together adds up pretty pricey. Overall very satisfying!
