My husband and I had an early dinner here tonight before a broadway show and the service and food were both 5/5. Our waiter was attentive and suggested both of our dishes and they were delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and decor. Highly recommend and will be back.

Shrimp dish with spyce sauce was delicious. Lamb chops were tender and cooked perfectly. First time tasted brussel sprouts so interestingly prepared. Sea food risotto was also worth trying. Overall great experience.

What a wonderful experience! The service was absolutely top notch. We had the beef tartare for an appetizer, and the sea bass and lamb chops as entrees. All were delicious and prepared well, wine and Manhattan were amazing as well. I appreciated that we were allowed to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. I really can’t say enough good about the total evening, so lovely!

I went out for a pre-birthday celebration, and Marchesa was a great recommendation. I went out with friends, but it’s a great place for date night. The French restaurant is charming, cozy and beautiful. The staff was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the lobster bisque soup, escargot, shrimp jovan, lamb chops, lobster and crab ravioli and penne pasta. Everything was delicious.

I’ve been wanting to dine at Marchesa for a while now, given that it looks absolutely stunning based on the pictures, and the menu looks incredible. That’s basically where it stops. I dined here last night, and the sole server there was upset that we asked for a bigger table despite the fact that it was 6:30 and there weren’t many other diners there because of the weather. The server would just point to a table and wouldn’t escort us there. He was also in a terrible mood and was very vocal about it. I could hear every complaint he made and it made me uncomfortable. The food came out very quickly, which I normally wouldn’t mind, had it not been severely over cooked, as it was evident because everything was extremely hot and over cooked, as if they were in a rush. No one ever bothered to stop by to ask if we were satisfied with anything. Absolutely no table touching at all. Not only were they understaffed, they didn’t seem to care about how terrible everything was, down to the GM. I was shocked to find out that the man sitting at the end of the bar on his laptop was the GM, as I watched the restaurant basically be on fire. He never once offered to help the staff. I asked him for the check twice as he was right next to our table, and he ignored me both times, leaving the poor bartender/server to get it for us since he obviously heard, but he was very busy. Although it’s a pretty spot, it’s not worth the money, for French cuisine, or any cuisine for that matter, I’d go elsewhere. The server assistants and the food runner, however, were professional and attentive.

Such a lovely experience at Marchesa. I had a caviar parfait and lobster and crab ravioli, with a glass of sancerre. Both were so good, and I’m now in love with that wine! It is a great place to wind down and have wonderful food in a beautiful environment. Thank you for a nice close to my evening.

Visited on a weeknight with a large group. The restaurant has a lovely intimate feeling. Our server Philippe was incredible, always available without being pushy. Every part of my meal was so well prepared. I can’t wait to go back!

Might be my fav place in Chicago. Excellent on all categories. Service is top notch, Nick was so knowledgeable, attentive, personable, and everything else you’d hope for from someone who holds the keys to your Friday night dining experience. The duck was fantastic, the citrus blend making it unique and delectable, even if I would’ve preferred it a bit more rare, my gf preferred it at exactly that same rareness that it was. And the lamb chops – wow. The horseradish paved the way, announcing “delicious lamb incoming”, to wake you up for the amazing perfectly seasoned chops. Great wine selection too, elevating the experience. Ambience is great too, with a manager stopping by to check on us. Thank you Marchesa for making this evening in our lives a memorable one, an unforgettable one.
