I was traveling and never heard of the place. Went in for a quick bite. The food was amazing. One of the best hoagies I had in a long time. Shame really because the hoagie was amazing, but the service was pretty sad which made for an awkward moment. I asked which Italian hoagie had the most cold cuts and the attendee girl at the register didn’t know that cold cuts stands for the various deli meats that come in the sandwich. Even after reading the ingredients to her she still didn’t know what I meant and said that the hoagie did not come with cold cuts. Finally I had to inform her that cold cuts meant Genoa salami, Soppressata, Capicola, prosciutto etc etc etc and combined they’re referred to as cold cuts, even ham if you’re really generalizing. I can see that she had an a-ha moment. But immediately after that interaction, she went back to her corner chair and sulked in front of her iPhone that she stared at blankly doom scrolling. Sure to have lost the invaluable human interaction and teaching moment she had just experienced. Our future is doomed.
