This is our go to for local Italian fare. Love the pizzas, love the other dishes. We’ve rarely gone wrong here food-wise. Bartender Donny is always there for you and can walk you through the menu and cocktails. Outdoor seating is lovely in the right seasons, though they share the patio with the often rollicking Gringos & Mariachis next door. Inside is an open kitchen and comfortable seating. It gets busy so hit happy hour early, stake out a spot at the bar, and tell Donny that Andrew sent you. He makes his own hot sauce that is a must on any pizza you order.

We went because of the “Savor Bethesda” Restaurant Week, but very much disappointed. Although the website clearly said “$20 Dinner: 1 starter + 1 entrée; $35 Dinner: 1 starter + 1 entrée + 1 dessert”, but there is NO option. The only starter has to be the crab soup. The only entree has to be mushrooms ravioli. The only $15 dessert is chocolate covered strawberries. We decided to try other dishes. The waitress did stop by our table frequently, but the 30-minutes cooking time was too long for three pastas and one pizza. The ravioli were well made and well prepared. The veal/beef tortellacci were very delicious. The spicy shrimp spaghetti were kind I’d dry. The prosciutto pizza had a great layer of prosciutto and arugulas.

It took a while for the pizza to be ready even though we were the only people there, but it tasted good.

The pizza was delicious. The crust was nice, light, and crispy. I also ordered the arugula salad. It tasted nice but was drenched and had soggy leaves. But buyer beware this food may cause serious stomach pain. I had cramping and bad stomach pain and indigestion.

the Pietrobono brothers have hit another home run with this establishment. and just like with their other bethesda restaurants they put a premium on exceptional guest service. this is exemplified by veteran bartender Donnie White-one of the best in the local service industry. he’s a true master of his craft and clearly loves his profession. it’s rare that i have been made to feel so welcome. i look forward to my next visit

Maybe you walk by the front and you might think mmm. But from the moment you enter I assure you that you will change your thinking; everyone is very friendly, the atmosphere really cozy. Excellent food the appetizers like Arancini and Proscuitto Crostini you have to try them. Pizza is cooked in a stone wood fired oven.
