My wife and I went out to eat and the restaurant we went to had a 2 hour wait. So we went to Bakers & Hale for the first time. The place was super busy but we were seated right away. I ordered the hamburger horseshoe. I lived in Springfield IL for 22 years. The horseshoe is a Springfield original dish, all non-chain restaurants have their own version. My fav has always been the buffalo chicken shoe from one of the restaurants. This has now changed! Bakers & Hale’s shoe has house cut fries that are amazing, an awesome queso cheese sauce and their famous bacon jam. Absolute best horseshoe I’ve had. My wife had the gyro bowl and loved it. We ordered take out a week later and got the same thing:)

Enjoyed the Pork Steak… delicious and large portion. Others had the pizza. Food is made with local ingredients and presentation is nice. Service was great and friendly. Dining is indoor and outdoor on the patio. Good place for a meal and relaxing with friends…

A little out, but the place was great looking. In side is very nice and the staff was very friendly. We had the Philly and nachos, oh my God the nachos are a 2 person or more meal. So be aware. All portions are large. Good selection of beers and drinks.

This place is absolutely amazing. It has an amazing atmosphere and the food is delicious! We love that everything is local and farm fresh. We leave full everytime and can’t wait to come back! The steak skewers and pork belly are some of the best!

We came here because the horseshoe was supposed to be amazing. The cheese sauce is good, I like the fresh cut fries. It turns out the horseshoe was very good. It was a nice night, and we set outside. My problem is that everyone around us is smoking, bad for 2 of us who have severe asthma. I understand we were outside, but does the whole area need to be smoking?

Regarding last night’s review, food and service were 5 stars. I accidentally hit 4 stars on Atmosphere. We were there to hear The Town Criers. It is an excellent place for live music. The atmosphere is a 5!!!
