We enjoyed very, very much our dinner and experience at Black Saddle. Our main course was absolutely delicious, the halibut was perfectly cooked, the sauce was awesome, a great cuisine from a talented Chef. Last, the dessert was delicious too, for the eyes and the palate. Our waiter was very caring and professional. A great overall experience!

I was really looking forward to revisiting this establishment. I’ve had a couple of outstanding meals there previously. This was not one of those times. I ordered a veal chop which was inedible, so much sinew and gristle. Table nearby had children ages about 4 and 5 running through the restaurant with free range screaming. Really a bummer.

Had a great lunch so we went back for dinner. It was quite a different experience. Small plates are indeed small plates. For $28 dollars we got 3 quarter sized crab cakes shell included. Then then beef kabobs with peanut sauce which were good but had about 1oz of meat on them and there were 2. A glass of Chardonnay was $16. When I got my whiskey and soda it was bourbon and the bartender argued that it was the same. The 4 of us had a 200 dollar bill and came home and ate cheese and crackers. Don’t waste your time for dinner. Very rude staff and not worth it your dollars.

I was disappointed with our first and last visit to this establishment. My husband’s food had a large black hair in it. When he brought it to the attention of our server she rolled her eyes, took the food and said the replacement “would take A WHILE.” My father-in-law’s salad arrived with no dressing and my steak was cooked well done when I had requested medium. When it came time to pay, our server remarked we would need to pay full price as “you are ONLY a guest” (aka – not an owner) and when she brought us the bill, everything had been double charged. After she corrected our bill, I politely informed her how disappointed we were. She said she’d have her boss reach out to me. No one ever contacted me. Given the clientele and price point of this restaurant, I would have anticipated much better and friendlier service.

Our party of 3 was quickly and courteously served on a Saturday that quickly became very busy due to an unexpected downpour. Thevstaff did an excellent job dealing with it all, and the food was very good, as well.

Known as a summer hangout this, next to the golf course clubhouse, is an elegant dinner choice for your family and a great place for friends to meet to get a drink or bar menu snack. Part of the snowmass shuttle route, so it’s easy to get back to your hotel, or home. Make this unique stop part of your vacation, so you’ll feel like a local.

Even though this establishment seems to be located within the Snowmass Club it is open to the public and they have a large parking lot right near by. They typically have specials going on in the spring and fall months. Multiple TV’s behind and near the bar so its a great spot to catch some games. They also have a small patio over looking the golf course that is great for late afternoon drinks. Staff has always been nice and pleasant.

We went to Aspen over the weekend to see all the fall colors. The drive up from Colorado Springs over Independence pass was amazing and the fall colors were fantastic. On Sunday night we stayed at the Westin because I’m a Marriott Ambassador traveler. It was off season obviously and one of the only options for dinner was the Black Saddle bar & grill at The Snowmass Club. My wife and I sat at the bar and Haz was our server / bartender. He provided excellent service and great recommendations. Although it was Aspen, the grill had several options on the all day Happy Hour menu because of the football game being on TV. The sliders were very good, the pretzel was one of the best I have had, the beer was ice cold and the wings are a good option. I travel for a living and the Black Saddle was excellent and I would recommend it during off season and any season. Be sure to sit at the bar and look for HAZ. He was fantastic.
