My sopapilla was fantastic! Absolutely amazing!! Their excuse for a burrito, however, not so much. It is LITERALLY just ground beef and a tortilla. Nothing else. When I asked about it I was told I could add cheese or sauce for extra, if I wanted it. That was how it came otherwise. My sopapilla is the only reason I’m not giving a 1 rating.

So my boyfriend and I went there and when we did the waitress said they were pretty much out of everything. There wasn’t much of an option. Our waitress seemed rude with us I don’t know if she had a bad day or what. So we ordered and while we were waiting she was talking to the other costumers there and saying all there deserts and said oh we will save it for you before they even got there food. So we got our food and it was AMAZING. when it was desert time they only had one thing left cause they must of ran out of everything else also. So we weren’t happy about that. So we got out receipt and it looked fine but when we went to pay they charged us more than what was on our ticket. Sorry but the food was good, service and options were not. Last time we ate here it was good, but we Will not be coming back sorry.

This was the first time my wife and I had been here since the ownership change. Just fyi, this is a small place, and they DO frequently sell out, as the food is locally sourced, and smoking does take hours. This is a characteristic of small BBQ places with food that’s anywhere decent. Speaking of the food, we had the brisket and the ribs, and ordered regular fries seperately as an appetizer. Sides seemed non-negotiable with a very average cornbread, baked beans that tasted like chili, and coleslaw. Neither of us really cared for the included sides, but palates differ from person to person. The fries were very good, the ribs and brisket both had good flavor, and were tender, but not overcooked. The choice of sauces was a good touch. The service was one of the best I have experienced. Attentive, available, and courteous, we felt welcome and at home. So the short of it, the barbeque will not disappoint, but get there before the day’s food is gone, or your choices may be limited. We will be returning to try different menu items, and will review as we do.

Great steaks one night, excellent chicken sandwich the next and perfect ribs the last. Carrot cake dessert was phenomenal. Friendly servers and even spoke to the owner…really nice guy. Highly recommended!

I loved this place! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. The service was outstanding, even when our waitress was busy she still stopped by our table to make sure we had what we needed. The food was great as well. We will definitely go back!

We drove an hour to try this place out and it was totally worth it! The staff was so welcoming and friendly! The “cowboy nachos” were awesome and the brisket is hands down the best I have had in years!

So this place has changed hands since the last time we were here. It is now a bbq joint. Very very good bbq. Super friendly owners. Still have the tasty salad bar. Doesn’t take long foot the orders to come out. Will be coming back.

Atwood does not have much variety, but this place is a hidden treasure for BBQ! The owner, Steve, has worked hard to have some outstanding BBQ!! The brisket and pork were amazing!!!
