The food was very good, not fine dining, but very satisfying and delicious. My sister had a gluten allergy and the cook was very accommodating to alter the daily special. They are a busy place so you might have to wait a bit.

Came in with 10 adults and 2 kids, waiter was super accommodating despite the full restaurant. They did NOT charge for water, so glad we ignored old reviews. It became obvious that the large group that couldn’t be seated had their entire party write nasty reviews to flood their review page. Which is too bad, really friendly staff and as I stated, it was busy and they still made it work for us.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Valentine for our honeymoon. The food was amazing! I had the hot beef sandwich and my husband had the bunkhouse burger. Both meals were delicious! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend stopping here!

Don’t judge a book by its cover! This is a great place. Not much to look at on the outside, nor the inside for that matter. Feels like a dark, local bar…. Service and food were fantastic. My friend and I bellied up to the bar just before dinner started. We had run the Sandhills Marathon and were starving for a meal. Our bartender who was extremely friendly helped take care of us with prompt drinks and meals. I was able to make the bacon cheeseburger into an 8oz instead of 6 to order it medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and hit the spot. If we had more time in Valentine, we would have eaten here again. The steaks looked great! Once dinner time hit, the place filled up fast! Highly recommend!!

Passing through town. Left Peppermill and we’re SO GLAD we went to the Bunkhouse for dinner. Make this your first choice! Super friendly and attentive service, excellent food, fair prices and relaxed atmosphere. THIS is where you want to eat. Had the hot beef sandwich and steak – perfect.

We seated ourselves and were greeted in less than a minute. My wife ordered the Navajo taco and I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. Both of us were happy with our selections and the prices were very reasonable.
