At our Matthews, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

New management team is Amazing! The restaurant was very clean on the inside. My kids loved their meal. Looks like they are using multi grain bread for their buns now… excellent change! Food was fresh and hot. Highly recommend this location!

I stopped in and ordered the Supreme sampler with fries and slaw. Sweet tea for the drink also. The location was pretty clean and the staff was very nice. My food tasted good, came out hot, and felt it was enough for what I paid. No complaints here at all.

I purchased two 4 pc plates of batter fried fish for $20 and it was delicious. The fish and french fries were crunchy and the Coleslaw was fresh and tasty. Try the spicy fried fish. It’s a knockout. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. This place has the best value for fried fish anywhere in Charlotte. Eat in or take out. Don’t be fooled by the looks of the place. Yes it’s fast food fish, but it blows away any other high priced fish place around. Captain D’s is the boss of fried fish.

Its Thursday 5/26/2022 .I ordered 2 dinners both 2 pc cod and slaw with French fries . Got home and you could see they sliced 1 pc of cod to make a 2 pc dinner and charged me 10 dollars for each dinner . I will never go back to that location again. Please look and the pic that I have posted !!!!!!

Tonight, Wendy took care of me through drive-through! I have to say she was very thorough with the way that she explained pricing as well as the meals! She was super friendly as I explained to her that it was my first time there! I really love how catering she was to me. The food was awesome I had fish, shrimp, macaroni, and cheese also baked potato! The price was great

Cashier checked my order before giving it to me, & b/c line in drive-thru was long, I pulled into the parking lot to check my order myself. (Was alerted when the cars in front of me kept passing their bags back & forth with the cashier.) Glad I did. A side order was missing, & only had about 3/4 of the entree in the box. Went back thru the drive thru & when I finally got back to the window, I was not even spoken to at first — the cashier just acted like it was my fault that she hadn’t caught the problem(s). They did resolve the issue, but the entree was more breading than usual (which is saying A LOT) & when you pay $15 for ONE fast food meal, you expect it to be as ordered and of relatively good value.

Low rating on atmosphere because dine-in is still not available. Had to eat in my car to take advantage of of the fresh cooked food. One pice of fish seemed to not be cooked thoroughly due to extra batter coating. Everything else was good, otherwise.
