After a long day of Amtrak travel, Chapter One was an eagerly anticipated stop for food and drink. Our server Cara was an absolute delight! My wife ordered the cold lobster roll and I, the hamburger. We sat in the rear corner and just took it all in! Immediate favorite… deservedly so!

I would not eat here again. The food was edible but was clearly pre packaged and not all fresh. The ciabatta rolls were definitely from Costco. As were the sweet potato fries. The chicken nugget wasn’t even fresh chicken. It was shredded chicken glued back together with fillers and popped in an air fryer (as you can see from the photo). The salad was too acidic to eat. Don’t bother paying $17 for an entree just to realize it came from a box.

Picked a beautiful day to check out this restaurant/bar for afternoon drinks and apps in downtown Mystic. Open windows let fresh air flow and they even had some entertainment. They have some interesting drink options. Wife had a smoked black raspberry old fashioned. Neat to see them smoke the glass.

The atmosphere is lovely and the wait staff are tremendous however the kitchen and food is atrocious. First of all our food was sent to us one or 2 at a time with 10-15 minutes of wait time in between, I mean there was one member of our party who got their dinner just as everyone was finishing theirs so we just sent it back. The buffalo wrap had no buffalo sauce and the chicken was like leather, the shrimp scampi w pasta might as well have been soup (extremely runny and poorly flavored), the chicken sandwich was flavorless and chewy as well. No discounts or apologies were offered and we ended up having to go elsewhere for those of us who didn’t eat. Overall a terrible meal.

Went for happy hour. Good “well” drink prices and $1.50 buck a shucks. My friend had PEI mussels which were excellent. No real complaints. Give it a try!
