Pretty much great all around. Waitress was very pleasant. Food was a bit pricey, but very good. Very clean, with a chill country cafe vibe. Would definitely return, and highly recommended if your in the area.

We were here to see The Taters band and they were great. First time at County Seat and we were very impressed. Looks like they have a very nice buffet that many seemed to be enjoying. I instead ordered the oysters and was very pleased. Good mashed potatoes a gravy too. Wife’s burger was good, but not her favorite. Servers were excellent on a very hectic and crowded evening. I think ours was Lauri…she was superb. Curiously, they seem to close at 8, but maybe those hours are extended as we get into the summer.

New to the area and was looking forward to experiencing and supporting a local restaurant. Not a good experience after waiting for a ridiculous amount of time and watching others (at least 3 tables) that arrived after us, 10 minutes after us, get served food before us, we decided to leave. We asked for our check for the drinks, that took quite some time for us to get as well, and was told that they could pack our food (that we never received) to go, we declined….. I guess you have to be a “local” to get good service here.

This was our first visit to the county seat and boy was it worth the trip. The buffet is amazing, the staff is great and the history there is pretty cool too. The facility is unique and spacious and we love the crowd, we can’t wait to come back.

This hidden gem is located in the town of Powhatan directly across from the courthouse. The waitresses and cooks always make me feel welcome. The food is absolutely amazing and very tasty. If you’re ever in Powhatan be sure to stop in and grab a bite. They also have a buffet on the weekends. The Sunday breakfast is also amazing!

Had lunch, I ordered the quiche and sweet potato casserole. Delicious. My mama ordered a club sandwich which she really good. I took a buttercream filled doughnut and she got a slice of caramel cake for the road. Both were exceptional. We live about an hour away and we’re traveling through but I definitely plan to make a special trip back one day just to eat at County Seat.

This is by far one of the best restaurants that I have ever set foot in. The atmosphere was marvelous and the food even better. The stunning owner of the establishment thought it not robbery to come over to our table to make sure everything was satisfactory and to share some history with us. I loved it so much that I considered relocating! 5 stars aren’t enough to express how much I enjoyed my dining experience. Thank you County Seat and thank you Ma’am.

We were lucky to get a table at 9:00 am for the Mother’s day breakfast buffet. We didn’t have a reservation. All the usual breakfast foods plus, waffle and omelet stations, roast beef, ham carving stations, fruit table and free mimosas for the moms. Love, love, love this restaurant!
