Pandemic is over. Why is this still takeout? I went on Sunday after church. I had not been there in 20 years. I won’t be back. It was just ok for taste, nice people but slow service and long line.

The pork chops were dry with hardly any taste. The cabbage was poorly seasoned and soupy, juices of the cabbage was more flavorful than the cabbage itself. The corn bread taste was dry and tasted like corn meal before it was cooked. The baked chicken had hardly any flavor to it. I only ate it because I was hungry…smh

Oh my, I purchased 2 dinners today turkey and dressing, cabbage, and mac and cheese; pork chop, mac and cheese with yams. I’m not sure if a new cook started today or this is the normal quality of food. The turkey and dressing was watery with little flavor, the cabbage was not seasoned and the mac and cheese was just there. The pork chops were dry and tough with no seasoning, but you do get 2 pork chops and they are a decent size . I understand when you cook you have to be aware of all health issues but seving tasteless watery food is a bit overboard. It’s going to be a NO for me.

The first time I heard of this place was during my internship with an app based radio station. It [David] was one of the businesses in the metro that advertised with the station. I finally tried them because my coworker had a craving for it. I had the salmon croquettes special that was part of their breakfast menu, as it was a staple to eat growing up, yet I hadn’t had any since I left home. The food was excellent, freshly cooked right in front of you. My only wish was that I could request to have my eggs seasoned by I understand why they don’t with as many people as they serve within a specific demographic (elderly and people with certain physical conditions) for the health and safety of patrons. All in all, it was delicious and I hope to stop by during the lunch/dinner hours.

Family owned. Black owned. Real moms and grandma’s cooking as soon as you walk in. Friendly environment, fast service, and good food. My favorite is breakfast. Don’t let the old building, table and chairs fool you that means they get a lot of traffic. I got the #7 that comes with red hot link, smothered potatoes and toast or biscuit. I added bacon, cause bacon is life! Breakfast ends at 945am but call in orders end at 930am.

They are take out only now and we were looking for a place to sit. I purchased the peach cobbler and caramel cake. The cobbler was so good, I need another. The cake was ok, the sugar in the icing wasn’t fully blended
