I’m from Louisiana and hold my seafood to be sacred. I’m always leery of seafood places away from the coast, and especially ones that are southern seafood. I wasn’t disappointed at all! I went there with my wife for our anniversary. We both enjoyed our meals very much. The shrimp and grits are excellent. The BEST thing though was the white chocolate bread pudding. I’ve never had one better. Service was great and we will be back!

Dixie Fish is my Favorite Seafood place in Birmingham. The atmosphere and food is just right. The outdoor patio is by far the best in Birmingham, and the interior is beautiful as well. The Orange and Blue Oysters are my favorite thing on the menu, but what I really like is that they will accommodate my diet when I’m trying to eat healthy. I’ve had the chef come out to my table and create a dish just for me on separate occasions. To me this shows two things: They really care about their customers and that the ingredients really are fresh because what they could make depended on what the kitchen had available that day.

ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT and we won’t be back. Business was slow-moderately busy for a Friday night. That should have been a clue as to what my family and I were about to experience. Slow service. COLD food. I got a $20 (greasy) fried “seafood” platter meal with only 3 medium shrimp, 2 oysters and 3 tiny CATFISH fillets. Since when is catfish seafood when it’s freshwater? Quality and value are in now way equal here. There’s better. As for me and my family, we’re sticking with Cajun Steamer where we spend around $75 for four…compared to a poor quality Dixie Fish and spend $104.

Dixie Fish Co. hands down has the best seafood on 280. If you promised never to go back just as I did give it a second chance. You must go back, with the new chef and management, Dixie Fish has done a 180 from what it was in the past. The waiters are beyond helpful, quick and know the menu very well. I’ve been there three times in the past two weeks and will not stop. Excellent food!!!

Excellent food, great service. The Po Boys and the fried shrimp are like no other in town. The food tastes fresh because it’s fresh, and the beer is decently priced. We go for lunch once every two weeks, and don’t feel like changing the routine anytime soon.

Our service was awesome! Our waiter, Raul, went above and beyond for us. He helped us decide on our drink, entrees, and dessert! He was very knowledgeable of your menu and the products. We loved all his suggestions and the time he took with us to make our dining experience here exceptional! This was our first time eating here, but it won’t be the last!!!

I joined my family here for a birthday dinner last night. The food was average in my opinion for the costs but that matches most seafood restaurants in the area without going downtown. I never write reviews but since I happened to find a small black screw in my rice during the meal, I felt the need to document this one. I presented the screw to the waitress without confrontation or special requests and she apologized but that was as far as the conversation went. Fortunately for her and the restaurant, I am a very reasonable person who realizes that accidents occur every day and being given financial credit does nothing for me. The fact that I was never approached by any level of management about the issue combined with the averaging tasting red fish will ensure that my family will never return to this restaurant and I will be sure to share my experience with anyone that asks my opinion. Note – I still left a 22% tip for the waitress because we had a large group and I realize that the issue was not her fault and I had to assume she had informed her management staff about the incident.

Will not be back. Today and once last week we had the same lackluster service despite a very sparse restaurant. Ordered food was forgotten, sweet tea refilled into unsweet tea orginally ordered & served glasses, wrong check presented BOTH TIMES, and staff did not seem pleased at having to be there. This is a far cry from the restaurant’s opening not too long ago. Clearly it has worn out its welcome to the 280 corridor. Oh! And the “new & improved” Michigan U-turn traffic patterns aren’t helping any. Bye!
