My friend and I recently visited El Beso and had a mixed experience trying out several items from their menu. Let me share our thoughts on the dishes we tried.

El Beso is hands down the best Mexican Taco Experience in all of el paso. The birria broth is the best I’ve ever had, even from birria places in Mexico. Try their large and rotating variety of aguas frescas (please bring the Mazapan Horchata back)! El Beso pastor tacos are my go to.

Nice little hole in the wall type of restaurant in beautiful West side El Paso. The decor is creative and I liked the retro Mexican theme. Only one person at a time in the restrooms as there’s only one toilet for women and one for men. Ordered quesa birria tacos, they had great flavor but they were too oily. Even the consome (broth) was too oily to drink or submerge, your order of birria tacos comes with 1 tiny cup of broth. Couldn’t even drink it straight from the cup because it was too oily, the taste was good though. The tortilla was on the toasty side so the tacos were more crunchy than soft. The salsas are already provided on the tables in squeeze bottles. The green salsa was delicious, the orange one was good, and the red one wasn’t that good. The chile flakes were too chunky and they were hard to squeeze out of the bottle. No tostadas or bean dip was provided like other competition taco places. No utensils provided, we had to ask for forks. Only 3 small tacos per order, on the pricey side at $12, but you can buy more tacos individually for an additional price. It does come with a few delicious Chiles and cebollitas toreadas but nothing else on the plate. I liked the Mexican sodas in glass bottles; they also had 2 types of aguas frescas, frutas and cucumber- lime with chia seeds. Limited seating, you might have to wait for a table or take it to go. We were around 6:30pm and the carrier was already telling us and everyone else “let me check if we have enough for that”, so they were running out of certain menu items. The staff were oblivious to clients coming in or out so I can’t say you get a welcoming feeling. The cashier looked like she had a hard day and looked confused. I doubt I will be back, nevertheless you might want to give it a try and see how you like it.

Visited on Sunday with a few friends and it was disappointing. I heard a lot of great things about this place and got a lot of reccomendations. I got the quesabirria tacos and I could not eat them comfortably. The spiciness was way too much for my taste. They didn’t have flavor it was all just chile. Hardly any cheese and really small. I tried dipping them in the consome to see if that would taste better but no, it was even more chile and too hot. Even the grilled onions had chile so it was not enjoyable. 3 mini tacos for $12? Pretty expensive for them not to be good. Even my friends didn’t like their tacos, they got tripitas and said they were over fried like crispy chicharones. The only ones that were okay was the al pastor. Also didn’t like that there weren’t many sides to eat with the tacos like at other places that offer baked potato or charro beans but no. Only thing there was, was elote or paletas. Another thing I was disappointed with was the Agua Fresca. I got one of strawberry horchata and it didn’t taste like strawberry at all, it was pretty much regular horchata painted pink. The place was really nicely decorated and has a good ambience with a lot of people though. I loved the signs on the walls. Maybe it was a bad day for them, but not sure if I’d go back.

Found my new favorite taco spot! The pastor tacos topped with pineapple along with their salsas have me obsessed now. Tacos come a la carte with all the fixings, fresh cilantro, limes, and onion, and generous portions on each single taco. Tried the asada/pastor quesadilla, super cheesy and tasty. I wasn’t impressed at all with the elote en vaso. It’s canned corn not your typical white maíz used for elote. I can’t wait to try their other menu items such as birria. The place itself is a vibe, just like your traditional taqueria you find in Mexico.

On the west side and looking for great birria tacos? Look no further! El Beso Taqueria has got you covered. From their signature cheesy quesabirria picsa, to skillet top cheese fried tacos or costras, to delicious tacos, El Beso offers an amazing and tasty menu to choose from. I especially enjoyed the elote en vaso which is sweet corn with some sort of rich creamy topping with spices, chili, and cheese. And don’t forget to get an agua de fresa while your there! The environment has a retro like feel with red and white tiled walls and a Coca-Cola styled theme. enjoy you meal at a table or at one of the “bar top” spots that line the interior of the restaurant. I would strongly suggest the bar tops as most of the tables are bowed and plates were slidding off the edge. So if your bringing kids to eat, stay away from the tables! Here’s to good food, good environment, and hoping the quality and portions never change ! Enjoy.

Best tacos in EP! Small location but the tacos are amazing and the best I’ve had. Has a Juarez taqueria vibe and decor and the best part is the tacos. Tried the Quesa Pizza and it’s by far the best birria quesadilla I’ve had in EP. Carnita tacos are amazing too. The meats are so tender and melt in your mouth.

This place was so good and by far one of the most authentic Mexican eateries in El Paso. The tacos were flavorful, the fried cheese in the quesadillas were mouth-watering and the birria was fantastic. The staff was friendly and the Mexican music and Mexican wordplay painted on the walls, made the atmosphere enjoyable while we waited for our food. I can’t wait to go again.
