I just want to say few days ago i went to el canelo i was super hugry. the lady took my order i order 3 plates to go. but when i got home i opened my order for a big plate and i thing they didnt buy rice enought cause when i see my plate they serve me a small rice amount of food i pay $50 for 3 plates to go. for a big aluminum plate they really stingy. i love mexican food but hey they got too short how they serve. and by the way. the lady who took care of my order she told me its gonna take 15 minutes. well it tooks 20 minutes. the food small portion for a bigger plates. OMG!.. no no no never again i would never go back here again too expensive and they serve a little bit of rice and more beans and nothing else the chicken when i taste it.. HORRIBLE! please whoever is taking care of the kitchen serve as a right amount please. thank you. and you guys loose a client. Thank You So Much !!

We stopped here for dinner after visiting Presque Isle before heading back to Buffalo. Many gluten free options for my wife with celiac disease. She opted for the chicken enchiladas with burrito sauce and a double side of Spanish rice, server was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination, no issues for her afterwards. I went with the El Canelo street tacos and got one of each of the meats, all of which were fantastic, the sauce was pretty spicy to my liking.

One of Erie’s best Mexican restaurants. The food was very good. Complimentary chips and salsa. Service was good but seating was kind of slow, but nothing to far out of the ordinary. The restaurant itself was very clean. Good social distancing practices are in place. All the servers wearing masks properly. No noses slipping out as seems to be common place at other restaurants. Definitely a place to eat at again.

Cute place. I asked for to go boxes cuz my son was in the bathroom puking and I had to go find my own. I also had to ask 2 times for the check…. And the Chile rellenos were just peppers stuffed with cheese… No egg batter and fried… It was a waste of $9. Normally I would have complained but I just wanted to get out of there…. Ohhh and the horchata was so over sweet even when the ice melted it was still too sweet to drink.

I came out of state from Los Angeles, California for an event in the area. I was craving Hispanic food and I stumbled on this place. El Canelo is an amazing Mexican restaurant. I was impressed at the quality of food, cleanliness, and promptness from employees. The salsa dip they give for chips is great but the spicy variation you can request is amazing if I can handle it. The food was very cheap for how much food we got. I got the fajitas and was not disappointed. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely visit this place again. I recommend this establishment to anyone coming by.
