This is one of my favorite places in Houston for pupusas. I’m Salvadorian and these pupusas are some of the best I ever had especially when I ask for them to go. They package it not just with the wrapper but aluminum foil and I think that’s what keeps it cheesy/hot (for reference- they don’t do that everywhere and the cheese is already hard/cold when you take it home… not from here though!). The frijol y queso (bean and cheese) is my usual go-to. The chicken one is great as well.

Small restaurant, but the food is to die for. Fried yucca was perfectly executed, crunchy outside and a nice soft warm inside, caldo de res was wonderful, flavorful and abundant, the pork chunks (from appetizers menu) was excellent, stuffed pupusas was good, I will take off the plate the refried beans, just the look is gross, flavor was good, and the main dish rice ,fish and vegetables was delicious.Servixe was great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I stopped in for breakfast while traveling for work. The food was so delicious, the staff was so wonderful and kind and helpful with their recommendations, I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I can’t recommend El Sol enough! Delicious food and great customer service all the employees are very friendly but on one occasion my family and I ate at this restaurant I accidentally ate fried cockroach leg from the roast salmon! .. but immediately replaced it with beef fajitas with no extra charge for the grill Salmon fillet. I would like to rate the food, but after 30 minutes with no food served. Other guests eat and leave because they finish their meals, even the ones that came in after us. We had another guest ask us if we had gotten our food. He got the attention of the staff. Never once did they try to make it right. Never checked on us or refilled our tea

Sol is a mix of Salvadorian and Mexican foods. The service here is great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I always order pupusas from here every time I get them they are on point. Tastes delicious and are served warm. Also people are friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes Salvadorian food.
