A very charming restaurant with a mix of French table fair and fine dining. The waitstaff was impeccably dressed and the service was excellent. Very professional dining for Baton Rouge. I had the shrimp and grits and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. We went for a birthday, the birthdayee got a complimentary dessert and coffee. All of the meals look absolutely fabulous and we had several compliments on the meals around the table. They had some interesting dishes that are unusual for Baton Rouge but followed the French tradition well.Very nice, very recommended and I will definitely go back.

The service was excellent. Our waiter was wonderful. He had outstanding customer service, and was knowledgeable about what they served. The food was cold. We ordered the Duck. It tasted great, though it did suffer from the seasoning issue that most restaurants suffer from. Chefs, salt is your friend. Use it! All in all, the food tasted good, but you definitely won’t be eating here often because the prices aren’t exactly low. So, to recap:

We had a gift card so it basically cost me nothing to go here. Everything seemed pretty good except the food. We were very surprised at how low the quality has gotten here. It’s not that the food is bad, it just isn’t great. If your charging premium prices, people tend to expect a high grade of food being sent out on the plate.

Galatoires is a really terrific restaurant. I understand they recently changed their menu and I hope it still as good as it was because the food was of exceptional quality. It’s a little noisy in the restaurant but that contributes to the lively atmosphere. This is one of the top restaurants in Baton Rouge.

My wife and I have been going to Galatoire’s Bistro for quite a while. Almost all of the dishes have been delicious, with (literally) few that have missed the mark. Friday night was part of Restaurant Week. We ordered from the fixed price, three course menu. Overall, I’m glad we went. The wait staff was attentive. The first and second courses that I chose [the Spinach and Shrimp Flatbread and the Gulf Fish (Red Fish in this case) en Papillote, respectively] were to die for. The third course (Basil Chocolate Mousse, which was actually a bread product with what appeared to be chocolate syrup) was, IMO, only so so. I would enthusiastically order the first two courses again. I’ve made a mental note not to even think of ordering the Basil Chocolate, ahem, Mousse again. With few (and far between) exceptions, the food at Galatoire’s Bistro have been delicious.

Without a doubt the LOUDEST restaurant I’ve ever been in. Acoustics are horrible. If you’re looking to have an intimate lunch or dinner, go somewhere else. The food was so, so. Portion size is okay and the quality was good, but all of that was overridden by the fact that the noise doesn’t lend itself to conversation without raising your voice. There are many other places to go to enjoy an intimate meal. I will not eat there again. If you do, I’d advise you to bring ear plugs!

Had a very enjoyable time. The food was very good, but the portion s (catch of the day/ crabmeat) were smaller than my last visit. Bread pudding was also good, but not truly great. A very nice atmosphere and excellent service.

The customer service is horrible. The server poured an entire mimosa in my hair, down my back and into my favorite expensive purse. She was quite apologetic and gave me a garbage bag to put my item in. I took it like a champ and our party of 13 continued on with brunch. The manager assured me he would reimburse me for the cost of having my purse professionally cleaned. I emailed him the receipt the next day and he said the check was on its way. Now, 5 weeks later, I am still chasing down the $71 I had the inconvenience of spending for an unfortunate event that could have been handled with swift professionalism. My emails have gone unanswered, my phone calls have not been returned and/or have been responded to with, “We’ve had some changes recently. It slipped through the cracks….” or ,”Someone else was supposed to do it.” I’ve spoken to two managers and had the same results – the run around. I just wanted to eat brunch. Now I’m short $71, my favorite purse is a different color, I’ve been terribly inconvenienced, I feel like I’ve been punk-ed, and I’m really frustrated!!! What a joke. Ugh!

Very pedestrian food and wait staff. Expected a LOT more from a restaurant that carries the Galatoire name. I sat at a able for four and we all ordered a different main course for variety. The food has a cafeteria feel about it, even the plating of the food was basic and sparse. Altogether it was a very overpriced and disappointing evening. I could not recommend it to my friends at half the price.

Being a native to Baton Rouge I love that we have a piece of New Orleans right here on Perkins. a great place to end the evening with a couple of cocktails on the patio when the weather permits. A bit pricey but you pay for the experience. My go to for special events calling for dinner.
