Solid tex mex options. Service was good. Best thing about this location is the atmosphere. In particular, the outdoor seating is very nice and they allow dogs. They also have these very cool free mouthwash dispensers in the bathrooms.

We ordered off the lunch menu which was placed in front of us when we were seated. At time to pay, we noticed they charged us much more than what the menu said. When we spoke to the manager, he claimed that they don’t do a lunch menu on Sundays and pointed to really tiny lettering at the top of the page. When I tried to reason with him, asking why nobody said anything when the lunch menu was put in front of us, or when we pointed to the lunch menu while ordering our food, he just said sorry I can’t give you that price. The best he could do was give us a 15% off discount the next time we were there. The food was subpar Mexican food, nothing special. Very poor service and not at all worth $20 per person with just water to drink, especially for a lunch.

Loved! My husband and I went with our friends and had a great time. Salsa isn’t the best I’ve had but the queso blanco was great. We had tacos, fajitas, and burritos and all were amazing. I had a frozen mango guava margarita and it was the best frozen marg I’ve ever had. Love that they let you mix flavors. Overall decor and vibe was awesome, too! Great atmosphere and great service! Plus my fish was one of my favorite at any Mexican restaurants. I had the chicken with ham and cheese sauce plus pineapple all that and a cherry on top! It is a cozy atmosphere.. if I lived in Norton Commons I would definitely walk up there on a regular basis!

Okay so I made the mistake of coming here twice in one week. The first time I came the food and the service was immaculate.. I love how they have a mouthwash dispenser in the bathroom for guests use and I love the upbeat atmosphere. However I decided to return later that week and my server was so rude to us it was ridiculous. I literally had to match his energy more than once before he decided to calm down. He cheered up towards the end of our meal, ironically right before he brought us our bill. I had to fight the urge to ask for another server because I didn’t want to be “that” customer.. it’s a shame because I had a friend in from California and up until that point she really was impressed with everyone’s hospitality here in louisville. I really love gustavo’s however my last experience there is really making me second guess returning to this location.
