Clean dining with friendly service. First time trying Guthrie’s Chicken. Not much on the menu to choose from but they’re reasonably priced. The chicken tenders were fresh when I ordered and the sauce had some good flavor.

I was in the mood for some chicken so I drop in on the Gutherie’s in Opelika, on highway 280 toward Columbus, GA. I was shock back the lack of options on the menu but I assumed it meant that they perfected the items they serve. The chicken was delicious, specially with the side of Texas toast. The box meal comes with 5 chicken fingers, fries, toast, slaw, and Gutherie’s custom sauce. I would have preferred barbecue sauce but it would have been an extra charge. I like this central-Alabama local chain overall, but this spot wasn’t impressive. The food and service was slow, the chicken fingers were minimally breaded, the fries were soggy, and the price was steep versus other chicken competitors. Clearly in expansion mode, not keeping up with quality. But it’s an ok alternative with a unique sauce.

No service. Waited for someone to take my order. They saw me but just ignored me standing at the register. Eventually, I just left. Also, flies everywhere so that also made me change my mind about ordering any food from there.

You only serve chicken (good chicken) but not good enough to warrant sitting in the drive thru for over 15 minutes when only one car is ahead of me. Friendly employees… just seemed to have a lack of preparation when chicken with fries and bread is the only option.

We ordered one box but they charged us for 2 and we have to wait for credit from our bank. They must have left the tenders out of the cooler for too long because we both got sick to our stomach. This was one first and LAST experience with this location.

When you drive up here you’ll be greeted by someone that clearly wishes they were somewhere else, followed up by ” pull around”. We waited at least 15 minutes probably closer to 20, for four cars in front of us. Keep in mind they only serve one thing… When we got to the window, the only words she ever said was “what did you order”.
