This review is just about the crabs only: Just want to share an fyi for everyone that might order from here. I’ve had good crabs from them before, it’s a hit or miss. This instance, I ordered two dozen female crabs from them. I don’t mind having several bad crabs in an order. It happens, I opened each and every crab and out of two dozen, I only had 3 good crabs. It was unbelievable.

Hadn’t been in a few years. They’ve expanded, but it was hot in there, they didn’t even have the fans on. Tried one of my favorites – crab balls. Whelp they’re not my favorite any more. They used to have a lot of crab meat, little filling and moist. Now, they are the driest dustiest crab balls I’ve ever had. I had two and couldn’t eat any more. I opened up the rest of them out of curiosity, barely any crab meat, all breading, no taste at all.

I LOVE THIS SPOT!! I have never had not one bad batch of crabs from this place even if the crabs are not huge they are Always heavy. Seafood salad is amazing and flavorful. Dont forget them delicous HUSH PUPPIES. Get you some but call in your order because the line can get pretty long especially on holidays.

Crab lovers be ware! I purchased a dozen of male crabs today and only had one good crab. Spoke with the manager and was told if the customers open up one or two crabs and they are bad return the order. I don’t live near Homeboys Crabs. Manger also stated they have no control over Mother Nature and if the crabs are heavy or not. Well, I have control over my money and I will never visit Home Boys again or refer any family or friends there I don’t care what the prices are sometimes you get what you pay for. The more reviews and complaints they get and customers go elsewhere I bet the owners will do quality control.

I live out here and I’m just about tired. I ordered twice from this place. Seems underdeveloped in there. The other shops near just as bad with loiters all around. I’m noticing they’re using the parking lot for a hangout spot. I only ordered the chicken and fries. Don’t think they should do chicken. Seems as if they cook it in the same grease as the fish…Nasty! I was thinking about going today but seeing these comments reminded me of my time there. In conclusion, just like the Bojangles around the corner from here, go at your own risk.

I decided to check out this seafood place because I am a definite seafood lover and I found if via Yellow Pages, so I visited. It’s a true takeout, with no inside seating. It also features a speaker outside where orders are called from. My food took 25-30 minutes, then they forget to put the potato salad with the second dish . First order: Lump crab cake sandwich combo/fries/calamari ; Second order: Broiled salmon platter w/two sides . I went back in to retrieve the side dish, and the cashier apologetically placed it in the bag. The calamari was thin and not crunchy like I love calamari –

Prices are reasonable but either way you are getting more than you pay for because the crabs are delicious. I love crabs, I eat them all year long. And all year homeboys have them in stock. The staff is amazing, they remembered my order by my second visit. I will continue to be a reliable customer. This is one of my favorite place.

I’m giving them a 2 star because I order a med crab chowder, there was no crab in the whole bowl. ($6.95) Only celery and dough balls. Called the Manger and he stated that they have to put in a certain amount of crab in the chowder when making the soup. Well, I guess I couldn’t even get a spoon full of crab in mine. I also order HB fried seafood platter, they asked me which fish would I perfer…I said flounder since he asked, I get there to pick up my order and they charged me $2.00 extra for the flounder. Then why ask me as if I had a choice then add on the extra expense. Be aware of the charges, they charge for everything. Extra Oldbay seasoning it’s a charge. Very disappointing!

I like Homeboy Seafood because they are fast they get you in and out, especially if you place your order over the phone. Their crabs are pretty good, and the seafood salad is very good. They do a lot of business however I think that they manage their customers well. My only complaint is that they were unable to answer my question about whether or not the crabs had weight on them, but I took a chance anyway, and they were good.
