We went to Irina’s on a Sunday night at 6:30 for my birthday. We made reservations but didn’t need to as there wasn’t many people. In total, we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours. That may bother some, but I’m a believer in relaxing during dinner and enjoying the time as long as the food is good.

Gross! I wanted to love this place but everything was so dirty that it ruined it. The menu had food all over it, my martini glass had someone else’s lipstick, the bathroom smelled and the lock was broken. 🙁 Still charged me full price for everything and the service was so slow. 2+ hours for dinner for two people in an empty restaurant

I decided to visit the new West Des Moines location 7/1/2022 and it was horrible. Irina’s main and original location has always been mine and my family’s go to spot for a nice dinner. This WDSM location is far from anything like the original. My waitress knew absolutely nothing and informed us she was bosnian not Russian and had just started. I asked for a classico, a Russian beer and she brought me a margarita on the rocks. When I asked her why, that’s not what I asked for she then informed me that she didn’t even know what a classico was and figured I would like what she brought. She was 100% wrong. Our food was bland, service was beyond slow and my total check cost more than it ever has even when I have gone with a party of 4 and we all drank. When I asked why and how my bill even totaled $230 for 3 people whom all only got 1 drink each she just said because. My receipt was not itemized and when I asked for one she indicated that they don’t have itemized receipts. At that point after waiting for almost 30 minutes to even get my check I was just ready to leave. I will never return to that WDSM location again and am weary of even considering the original. I hope anyone else whom visits has a far better experience than what I, my husband and father had.

I am a big fan of the original Irena’s on Hickman, so wanted to give this one a try. Everything was amazing, and the food was beyond delicious! We sat at the bar and had amazing service from Spencer (who was working her butt off) and Dimitri. We got some specialty cocktails, the boursin mushrooms, shrimp cocktail (shrimp was as big as my hand), lobster ravioli, and steak deburgo. Oh, and the snickers pie! So good!!!

Came here on a Tuesday. Old fashioned was more Wisconsin style which isn’t my jam but other wise food was great. Side portions are HUGE so don’t get carried away. Had the fillet with horseradish crust. Was awesome!!! Vibe was a bit dark but it worked. Will be back.
