Food is delicious. We had a baked baby eggplant with meat stuffing which came with thick creamy luscious yogurt. Get this! They provide warm complimentary bread with a garlicky red purée. So good. For entrees, we had the kofte and a bean stew. We loved every bite. Look forward to returning to work our way through the menu.

What we ordered was very good. Several menu items were not available which was a bit frustrating, and was not explained but we didn’t ask more about it either. Turkish beer was gone, wine was “light”, two of the main entrees were not available. It’s a very tiny place, with really cozy front window seats. I’d give it another chance; maybe on a Friday night rather than a Sunday afternoon.

My family chose this place for a birthday dinner, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We sampled appetizers and shared our entrees all around. The portions are generous and all the food was delicious. I had never had Turkish food before, and I was pleasantly surprised with its flavor without spiciness. The waitress was attentive and charmed us with her smiles. We are out of town but hope to return for another meal sometime.

Came in for an early Sat evening dinner and loved it. The server was attentive without hovering and had great recommendations. Baby eggplant app, all the breads, lamb, everything was wonderfully flavored. Finish your meal off with baklava and a Turkish coffee. We’ll be back soon.

Istanbul’lu is a cozy Turkish spot in Somerville that we tried this weekend and enjoyed. The Pohca was great – the dough was perfectly soft & delicious. Another order I loved was the Iskender Doner , which is a classic turkish dish served with doner meat over yogurt, tomato sauce, & crispy pita bread. Lastly, as an eggplant lover I enjoyed the Firinda Patlican. It hits home

Everything is terrible I am from Istanbul I saw the sign and joined the store. I missed my culture but the foods are terrible. If u wanna try Turkish cuisine there are better options in Massachusetts close to this location. That night I order something but I couldn’t eat them after that I had to go to the other store to eat real meal

Very tasty food. The meat was very tender and the spices were well balanced. The ambiance was laid back with a lot of traditional Turkish decorations and music. I did think the price was a little higher than I am used to seeing in the area for the portion size and type of food, but the food did taste good.

It was my first time eating Turkish food. I have only eaten it on Turkish airlines before . The food was really good here. I loved the the Turkish tea and the roll thing and also the chicken dish. Although the prices are a little bit high but the food is good. It was worth it. I am definitely going there again.
