Jamil’s Cafe has amazing food!! We randomly chose to eat there while riding down Ogontz Ave and was not disappointed. The customer service was warm, the food was ready timely with about a 20 minute wait. The fried whiting and seafood is a must try! We will definitely be back; support black-owned business y’all!

I love Jamils Cafe and anyone close to me knows it! I haven’t gotten a chance to take pictures but when I come I get the same thing and I’m never disappointed. My order is the Fried whiting with Mac and Cabbage. It’s so good. And you can’t forget the strawberry crumble cake, I don’t know the name of it, but 10/10. All under $25. I love that it’s family owned and they are so welcoming every time. They have my support.

I have tried to order from here several times. I have been calling the number listed on google and the number on the restaurant sign, which is not the same number for the past six weeks, on Friday and Saturday. They never answer the phone. Today when I went past, they were just unlocking the doors from the outside at 11:20am. Again, I called today and still after me seeing them walk in, no answer. No voice-mail or forwarding number for this business. I ended up going to the Market and buying, fish, shrimp, collard greens and everything needed to make macaroni and cheese. I will not be calling back to give my hard earned money to anyone, I’ll just make it myself, but since it was Friday and an early day, I wanted to treat myself.

Ordered on uber eats for the first time. I was super excited to try this place out because of all the good reviews, but 7 items plus parts of a platter were all missing, no one called me for a substitution or told me they did not have a certain item available. It’s crazy how I received only 2 full platters and 1 partial platter. While the other 7 nada. (It’s drinks, sides and desserts. Even the shrimps thats supposed to come with whiting and the second side for the wings was missing!)

They’re hit or miss. I had good fish and chicken through Ubereats before. Yesterday, the potato salad was the consistency of mashed potatoes, was sweet and didn’t have egg or onion in it…just celery and relish. Seafood had the baby shrimp and very little traces of crab meat. Also, they don’t call or replace a side, they’ll just leave the dish empty and you have to reach out to Uber for a refund. The cakes are hit or miss as well.

I learned about Jamil’s Cafe on a friend’s FB post and decided to try it. Although I had to call a few times to get through to place my order of wings and shrimp platter, mac ‘n cheese and green beans with a side of six fried shrimp, it was an easy pick up.

A group of my friends ordered from Jamil’s for our Galantine’s event. I called in my order, which was taken patiently by a polite young lady. She reviewed the order twice and she agreed to put names on each of the platters since it was a 5 person group order. Each of us enjoyed our food and stated we would definitely order again.

First and foremost I love the fact that they cook EVERYTHING FRESH TO ORDER! The serving sizes are perfectly portioned. I got the combo platter and could have definitely split it with another. Considering the fact everything is made fresh, I received my food in a very timely manner. I will definitely be recommending & visiting Jamil’s Cafe again in the near future!

My husband ordered the stuffed salmon platter which was $22 now we don’t have a problem with the price however the serving size and how it was served was horrible his salmon wasn’t stuffed it just was some crab meat thrown on top of a little piece of salmon. The Mac and cheese had no flavor all we tasted was salt. The yams were the perfect texture but again no sugar no cinnamon all I could taste was a small bit of vanilla. And the collard greens I was extremely disappointed even me trying to fix them up how I like them didn’t help.

AMAZING!!! Going here was the best decision I made since moving here. They made me feel at home and the food is well priced! It looks very clean and orderly. Highly recommend. Food taste as good as it smells (: The desserts are yummy.
