K38 Baja Grill Menu – Wilmington, NC

Type : Restaurant

Location : Wilmington, NC

Over 20 years ago, our founder Josh Vach visited the coast of California. He went with a desire to find the perfect wave and enjoy the amazing authentic Mexican food that California has to offer. When he returned, Josh set out on a new adventure to bring those same authentic Baja flavors to his coastal home in North Carolina. Fueled by his life changing trip, K38 Baja Grill, which was named after his favorite surfing spot at the Km marker 38 in Baja, was born.

Today, we continue to nurture and respect the love and passion that Josh put into his restaurant through our food and atmosphere in the hopes that you too can experience what our founder found so special about Baja, California.

K38 was one of my favorite places to visit when I went to UNCW, so it was only fitting to visit while I vacationed in Wilmington last week. It certainly brought back wonderful memories. Their salsa is just amazing. The guac was delicious. Our tacos were out of this world and the taco salad was huge. The service was impeccable. The only thing to mention was the restaurant was super cold that night and one of my favorite things, the rice, seemed to have been made hours before and not fresh. If you’re going in late you may want to substitute that for something else. Loved visiting a great place that is growing!!

UPDATE 4-17: We purchased 4 SoCal Burritos to go-$20 each. I can understand a burrito costing $15-$20 I work in the grocery industry. The burritos we received,, while delicious-“, were worth maybe $5-7each-seriously, imagine you buy four frozen burritos at food lion/those would be way bigger—$80, for four small burritos that should be 3 times larger-it’s insane. Go to Los Portales 3 blocks away-you can get four amazing burritos, chips and guacamole, two margaritas-and with a tip spend less $. I’ve never felt more ripped off in my life. I will NEVER go there again. I even tipped the lady who took my order more than 2 of the burritos were worth. 4-17 lunch-i just bought one from each place cuz this is ridiculous/I added photos-1st is K 38 $20 burrito-the other is place down the street for $13-its almost 3 times the weight, worth $13-maybe even more-to the owner who responded-lol on that response

Excellent service, friendly atmosphere, food was incredible. The consistency in the taste has been spot on. The presentation is nice too. Top shelf margaritas are excellent.

So the food tasted fine. Even pretty good. The problem is I expected to actually get what I paid for. I got their hot honey shrimp. I got 6 shrimp for 13.50. Not jumbo shrimp. I paid more than $2 per shrimp for a cocktail size shrimp and no side. My girl asked for shrimp tacos which were listed at $11 and the waitress asked would you like 1 or 2 and me and my girl looked at each other confused because it was listed as an entree and we both thought there was no way that they were charging $11 for one shrimp taco on a corn tortilla. But sure enough when we got the bill yes they charged us $11 per taco.

Great food and reasonably priced. Everyone was so friendly. The hostess Evelyn, the waitress Eleanor, and the general manager were so kind and went above and beyond for us!!

First time at the new K38 on Independence/Carolina Beach Road. Kinda noisy and hard to have conversations but the food was scrumptious and our waiter Jacob was fantastic! Very tuned to us and happily offered to explain some things on the menu when he noticed us kind of unsure of what was what. Also paid close attention to us as people (for example, he noticed my cat wallet and asked thoughtful questions about cats) and so on. Food was also fresh, good portions and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend!

How fun to have a close by Baja K38! I was pleased with the convenient parking, and the artwork and theme were evident from the minute you arrive. The menu prices have gone up, but I guess everything’s gone up. My favorite and the only thing I ever order is the chicken barbacoa, I order the large so I can take at least one home and it’s a good portion. You cannot beat this salsa, it’s so good you want to drink it. A key part of the salsa though is having a great chip that they home make. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you go to this great restaurant.

Every time we pass by this restaurant, it always seems really busy, so I decided to take my family here for dinner. We were able to he seated instantly on a Saturday night. The food was decent, and we got it fairly fast, but we spent $60 on two burritos and a kids quesadilla and was a little surprised that you got no sides with the adult dinner. The portion size was extremely surprising to us for the price.

I should start adding pictures of the food… K38 was good. Our server Heather was nice, patient, & knowledgeable. Made good suggestions and made sure we were happy throughout the dining experience.

Maybe I’m biased from JBVs reign but First time having k38 brand in about 4-5 years. Disappointing. This salt came off a handful of chips. Barely could eat the chips because how salty they were. Service was amazing. Food….. no.
