The best Vietnamese in the Knoxville region has sadly closed its doors as of mother’s day. A well deserved retirment for the owners. Oh, how I’ll miss those Vietnamese egg rolls.

Mom & pop restaurant -Building is old but the food is excellent. Every entree made fresh when you order & family is sincere and friendly. Daily lunch special $3.75 and the egg rolls are the best around! If you aren’t immediately acknowledged it’s simply because they haven’t heard you enter. This place is another Oak Ridge secret!

I’ve been eating at Kim-Son since I was too young to remember, and I believe it’s gone through two or three locations during the time I’ve been a patron. Excellent authentic Vietnamese food, low prices, and cozy atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants of all time! Even the proprieter’s short grunts & gruff attitude start to grow on you after a while. Nice chopsticks too. Would recommend this place to anybody.

Freshly prepared, fresh and delicious food! The egg rolls are the very best I’ve ever had! When I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the sauce for my Pho, the gentlemen that works in the front was kind and pointed me in the right direction.

Very small Mom & Pop (husband in front wife in kitchen). You order she makes it right then. Fresh ingredients, some out of garden around restaurant, made just for you. So there is a small wait but not to long.

Who doesn’t love a good dumpy looking Asian restaurant? The rundown atmosphere is almost half of the appeal. You know it has to be decent to stay in business. I have eaten here for many a year and it has never disappointed.

Just ate there yesterday. Food was great and reasonably priced as usual. The building is old and not maintained very well, otherwise I would have rated five stars. I have included a pic of a newspaper review which is framed and hanging on the wall. Try it, you’ll like it.

The egg rolls were mighty greasy. Tasty, but greasy. I ordered the General Tsao chicken, and it was really sad, there were tiny, tiny diced pieces of chicken, maybe 2 tablespoons worth in total, with equally small diced carrots and celery pieces. My wife ordered Cashew Chicken, which was incredibly thin slices of chicken, the water chestnuts tasted like they came out of a can, the sauce was thin and runny and not too tasty at all.

Pretty disappointed. Good was not flavorful. Menu online was not even close to actual menu, completely different offerings at much different prices. In particular the fried rice was not fried rice, it was sticky rice, again very bland.
