Im never one to write a bad review about a company, but todays an exception. February 8 I started working at the W hotel in south beach as a server with a third party company called KNR Hospitality. I was supposed to have three days of orientation, the first day we were given an employee handbook which we had to study and take an exam on the last day of orientation, our uniform, a clear book bag which we had to use for work and an earpeice. Second day of orientation comes and instead of continuing with orientation like we were supposed to I was put to work already shadowing a runner & server. Third day comes and again I am shadowing a server. The first day of orientation made the company seem like they were very professional and serious about their job, but 2 weeks passed and I never took the initiation exam or even finished the orientation class. We were also told we would have 2 days off one being an ON CALL day and the reality of it all was that we were extremely understaffed and worked way over 40 hours a week without receiving any overtime. But that’s not the worst part, on February 24 an incident happened where money was stolen from my wallet in my book bag at work during my shift, I let the managers that day know and they informed me that no cameras were installed where we are supposed to keep our personal belongings so there was no way on finding out who did it. I was obviously very upset that nothing could be done and that I was working in such a dishonest environment. Later that afternoon, I sent a message out to all the managers including the head manager Kevin Crew explaining the situation (this is the message I sent) :

UNPROFESSIONAL: Unicee Cruz & Joe Weis the Catering & Events manager/Marketing assured me that when her bartender ‘accidentally’ gave my AMEX card and Dutch ID card to the wrong person (costing me €230), that I would be reimbursed. 8months later, NOTHING! Be careful around this place.
