I have never gone to the Longmont location until tonight. I was excited to go. The place was smokey. The hostess promptly sat me in a corner booth, which i was happy with. I waited for about 10 minutes before a man came to ask me what I wanted. I ordered a mojito with an extra shot. It tasted good but did not taste any alcohol. I ordered the chicken enchiladas to go and queso while I waited. I’m not sure what this was exactly. The queso was very watery and had a grainy texture (see video). I don’t think I will go back to this location. The Boulder and Lyons have really been nice to go to.

We love La Mariposa! The food is delicious. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere is authentic. We did learn from our wonderful server, Ruben, that they’re moving. But just done the road!!! So excited to see the new digs. If you haven’t experienced this gem yet, don’t wait. Plus their drink menu is super fun. You’d wish you had more time and a sober driver.

The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant, though I did not like how close our table was to the booths. It made it difficult to have an intimate conversation when you compete with the noise from the kitchen and the conversation behind you.

Horchata was old could almost taste raw milk on it. The server was nice to replace it with Dr Pepper fine. Then caldo de siete mares taste like re heated in the microwave crab legs where super dry and shrimp was chewy like gum. Then the molcahete with carnitas is he salsa tasted so old and almost like it was going bad, it also had a sausage that looked like it was reheated in the microwave and super dry. Chips and salsa had a hair on the bottom after we had eaten everything. I would say just check the freshness of your inventory. I am a chef and you can’t tell me everything is done by the order.

Food and service were awesome! We had a variety of dishes including pick youw own tacos. Everything was very delicious! I’m sorry I forget about this place too often. The only reason the atmosphere is 4star is due to the ventilation of the cooking area being very poor. The entire restaurant was smokey and stunk like grease.

To start with the Horchata water tasted more like expired milk with a glimpse of vanilla and just some ground cinnamon for topping. Got some soda to replace the horchata but even then it was more like fizzy water and couldn’t taste the coke in the drink. I could off had just gone to my local McDonalds for that fizzy drink. The salsa verde in the molcajete carnitas tasted like the container was left in the fridge opened for a couple of days. From all my other experiences at other Mariposas this was my worse experience for food. Not even my child ate his cheese quesadilla,
