The BBQ is fine. The burnt ends are relatively tasty. But they are not what you write home about. Everything is perfectly serviceable but it’s not transcendent, which is possible. The pork sandwich is sliced. The burnt ends have a meat to gristle ratio that is unfortunate. But the slaw… What is happening here is unmentionable. There are red peppers and something sort of fruity that leaves an after taste that takes you right out of anything enjoyable about the entire experience. The slaw cannot be salvaged and it’s practically a crime. The restaurant puts forth a great experience and vibe that makes up for a lot. The staff is amazing and the smoker is up front and impressive. They the pull the meat off as you order it, but I was hoping for more.

Excellent stop on the BBQ trail! The pork sandwich was a double decker and was well worth it. I ordered the jalapeño poppers as an additional side and it came 14 to an order 14. At other places for that price, you may get 4. Fries were flavorful. Pork had a nice smoky flavor to it.

Alot of people talked very highly of this place and I had some pretty high expectations of this place. I was sadly disappointed as were my colleagues I brought with me. All 3 of us got the burnt ends. It seemed like we got 30% meat and 70% fat chunks. Was also difficult to be comfortable in a place that was lacking air conditioning in the heat of August.

During our recent trip to Kansas City, one of our Uber drivers told us the spot for authentic bar-b-que was LC’s. We were staying in the Westport district so I hooped on the 47 Bus (rides are free) and headed out. Just so happened the bus stop is directly across the street from LC’s.

Was passing through KC and had to hook up with my buddy for some BBQ like we always try to do. This is one of his favorite spots and it didn’t disappoint. It had the classic hole-in-the-wall ambiance where you expect to find great BBQ. I got the mixed burnt ends (beef and pork) and it was great. But the baked beans were possibly even better. Been a long time since I’ve had any this good. Even the fries were excellent. Would definitely be visiting often if I were a local.
