First off, if there is good surf, they will most likely be closed….but this is a good thing. Mahina Pizza is one of those small pizza joints where the owner has the best of both worlds. They use their culinary expertise to make home-tasting pizza while taking advantage of the surf right behind them. A GREAT place to experience true aloha, a relaxing, clean environment, great-tasting food and just an all around positive vibe!!

The pizza was good for the most part. Thin crust was surprisingly difficult to cut. There was too much waiting. We had to wait 50 minutes until we actually got our food. They were clearly short staffed. It was frustrating to see others who came in after us, get there food before us.

Both food items were burnt and took about 20-25 minutes to get. It wasn’t busy but there was one server so that may have been why. Had high hopes based on other reviews and pictures but was none the less dissatisfied. Me and my friend ended up going to McDonald’s after. But three stars for good service and a friendly waitress!

Mahina Pizza is located about a coffee shop. The looks can be deceiving however the locals love this place. Great pizza with several toppings and a warm friendly atmosphere. I would recommend to visitors of the island who need a quick bite to eat.

Very happy with this pizza place! They make the pizza by hand use all natural ingredients. While it’s not NY style pizza, it doesn’t have to be… It’s still very good pizza! One of the best cheap eats in the area (which are very limited). I got two slices with one topping on each, and an ice tea for $8 (before tip). On top of that, the service was very friendly! I definitely recommend!

Salad with house dressing is 5stars. Cheesy garlic bread was good, but could be SO much better if they used real garlic instead of powder. Thin crust pizza was fine… ingredients very good, crust boring (no yeast flavor). But a great place to watch people and cars cruising Ali’i if you get a seat by the balcony. And plan ahead… byob if you want beer or wine with dinner.

Best place to eat in Kona town. As far as I can tell one person waits the tables and makes the food, so be patient. It’s BYOB. Great for families. Best pizza on the island if you ask me.

The owner is very attentive to customer. She offered to make the pizza half-half between the choices of my two children, and on top of that, double cut a few slices “in case someone wants to have a different taste”. This kind of personal touch brings customer back again and again.

This place is upstairs from the street and enjoys a nice view of Ali’i drive as a result. The staff were super cool and the food was great. They have ruined me for “Hawaiian” pizza on the main land. They are a little limited on seating and some of the tables are a little rickety.
