I love mezcal, but I’ve been frustrated with their service lately as we often come to this restaurant and enjoy it. Our waitress tonight was very rude to us and did not come to check on us once after dumping our food on the table, only coming much later to give us the check. We found two strands of hair in our food while eating and the food was itself has just tasted bland lately.

We went to Mezcal a couple of times . Cocktails are great. Guacamole and dish called ‘Molletes’ is good. I ordered Chile relleno once which was okay, not exceptional!! I wish they had more vegetarian options! Decor is cool. Their portion size is big- both drinks and food!

As the appetizer it was chips and salsa but most of the chips were hard (most likely from being left out) The soda I got was so watered down, it wasn’t even left out for that long. I ordered some tacos that came with no cilantro just the meat and it didn’t look appetizing. They didn’t taste authentic either. My mother got some dish that included chicken. The chicken was dry and it tasted like nothing. A lot of the food lacked seasoning including the guacamole. Sorry but won’t eat here again.

If you’re from Texas, and you know good Mexican food (I’m not even talking about Tex-Mex) this is not the place for you. The food was SO bland. I don’t know how someone can mess up quesadillas the way they did but it was so bad. The chicken was beyond dry and had a horrible poultry taste to them. The coctel de camarones came half empty and it looked like a drink. Fish tacos were fried in old oil. Then they brought out some extremely tough, dry beef flautas. The margaritas had almost zero tequila in them and they were each $10-15. Oh, and btw they will charge you each time you get a soda refill ($2.50 each time) and there was no mention of this on the menu at all; I should have taken a picture as proof! The only good thing was the chips and salsa but they SKIMPED so hard on the salsa!!! I knew it was a big red flag when they brought out a bowl with the smallest amount of salsa for four people! Lol We decided to try this place out because we’ve been craving Mexican food, but we left beyond disappointed at the service, food, prices. The atmosphere was really great, however, and I enjoyed the mariachi playing (that was the only good part).
