My husband and I were walking up San Francisco St. and saw a welcome board inviting us for the Ortiz Daily Lunch Buffet. The food smelt amazing, but it was Indian Market, so we figured we would come back for dinner. To our surprise their new Executive Chef, Josh Ortiz, was offering a weekend dinner special, the Prime Rib. We both got the special and boy did we make the right decision! The prime rib was so tender and juicy, mashed potatoes were amazing and asparagus cooked to perfection! Cocktails were also very good! I ordered the Basil Hayden Blueberry Smash and my husband ordered an old fashion. Our waiter who was our bartender, Ryan, was excellent! The restaurant was full and Ryan still made sure everything was to our liking and made sure we and his other tables were completely taken care of. I will definitely be recommending this place to our friends and family! I can’t wait to go back!!! You guys have a great team!

Great waitstaff. Great attitude. Fast attentive service. Great bar drinks. And delicious food. The salmon fish and chips was very good! And the stacked Enchilada was very good too! ❤️

The place was empty when we were seated. The seating setup is less restaurant and more coffee house which is to say, impractical. The food was okay, but less so based on the price. I got the flatbread which is essentially a rectangular pizza. It was just okay, nothing great here. The chips and salsa and guacamole was ok, but the chips were flat out stale. Price dictates it should be excellent. Our server was very good. I cannot recommend and I probably wouldn’t eat there again.

Not sure why they got many bad reviews but we have different experience altogether. The evening we came was chilly in December. Due to seating full at the bar we chose to sit by one of the tables instead. As I scout which table to sit by, I found the perfect spot-the table right by the fireplace. As soon we were seated, the waiter, immediately came to rekindle the fireplace that was going medium strong. Instantly the fire came full on and warned us all. The waiter was all smile too as I could see the joy of him enjoying not just entertaining the guests but they services he rendered. What a wonderful holiday spirit in December he possessed! Then we started to look at the drink menu, I was super stunned at the creativity of the drinks which are filled with local theme and seasonality- such as Rum-Pkin (pumpkin purée, cruzan rum etc), Spicy Blood Orange Margarita (jalapeño infused tequila, blood orange)… how fun is it!! Overall great service, cheerful attitudes and great drinks (the right amount of price for the atmosphere). Will tell everyone about it. Thank you and keep up the great work. Hopefully I will be back soon.

First, they served kids 2-day expired milk, which we discovered after drinking it. Burrito cold. Inferior ingredients. Daughter took one bite of the oatmeal and set it aside. I asked her if it tasted bad, and she said, “take a bite, I dare you…” Son left 90% of his pancakes, and the boy eats everything in sight…but not those pancakes. The omelet station was good, and the coffee was pretty good. Total bill for four with most of the food uneaten: $71. Don’t eat here.

Let me start off by saying I don’t like to leave one star reviews but in this case I can not leave less. We stopped in here on Christmas day as we were exploring the downtown area. We were surprised to find that they were serving dinner. We were told it was a 20 minute wait, again we were surprised. Then things went down hill. 20 minutes turned into an hour and 20 minutes. About 45 minutes in one of the hosts took us to the bar to continue wait and tod the bartender to get us a drink and we accepted. When were finally seated were were given a different menu and the other menu was not available. We thought it odd, but didn’t complain. The problem came when the check arrived and the complementary drinks were on the bill. We when we inquired as to why, believing that they were complementary due to the hour and twenty minute wait. The manager on duty completely threw a fit. I have never been spoken to in such a way by a manager ever! He informed me that comping alcohol in New Mexico is illegal. Me being from another state and not in the restaurant business had no idea. He ended up giving us the meal and then said that it will take another hour and twenty minutes to get the bill. I just could not believe how unprofessional this man was give the somewhat upscale establishment. I would advise against giving this place you patronage.

Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza hotel restaurants’ name is Ortiz. The Hilton breakfast buffet is below average in every way. This is not what you would expect when paying $300 a night or even $19.50 for the breakfast buffett. I hope the food & beverage manager(s) of the hotel read this review and improve the choices for your guests. The pastries are advertised as house made and they are Hilton (food service) stores house bought. the breads are the same, tasteless fare. They don’t have sourdough bread? The fruit mix from the breakfast buffett looked like it had been prepared previously and was old. The chefs’ omelette station and omelettes were good. ***Please fresh choices for your guests.

What a surprise! We were expecting average food but were very pleased with an excellent dining experience. The Tortilla Soup was excellent. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

The bartender refused to serve me because I had an out of state ID. Bummer. We stopped in because we had a free drink/appetizer coupon from the hotel, the appetizer was a house shrimp app that was honestly delicious. For the drink he offered water… The other bartenders seemed fantastic though!
